Jay Nady is a standup referee. He keeps the heavyweights in order and is a strict disciplinarian. He genuinely cares for fighters. Joe Cortez is also up there. Kenny Bayless is a very attentive, athletic young ref who will be a top ref in the coming years.



The worst? Dan Kelley who reffed Augustus-Burton was a terrible ref. Thank God he's retired. Wayne Kelley struck me as being subpar. He allowed Golata-Bowe I to get out of hand and damn near got Richard Hall killed against Roy Jones. As Larry Merchant said, "The referee should be pistol-whipped."

Richard Steele? He should go back to being a failed promoter.
