im a cotto fan and fellow boricua but ill admit mayweather is king of welterweight FOR NOW! on the other hand you have to prove your the best by beating the best(COTTO) and the only wins he has at ww are judah(cotto destroyed him), delahoya(past his prime), and i think baldomir(a nobody). thats not an impressive list at all im not a pbf hater but the truth is the truth. P.S. hatton to me dont count he moved up to fight in ww for his first time and he dont belong in ww. oh and i almost forgot pbf should have 1 loss castillo was robbed

Cotto is the only 147 lber. who comes close to matching that over the last two years. The fight has to happen eventually and it probably will. Does the fact that it won't happen in 2008 make it less significant? Did the fact that Mayweather-Hatton happened at 147 instead of 140 make it less significant? I don't know how it could, but maybe you disagree.
We've been over this before, but I guess we didn't go through it thoroughly enough. Judah, Baldomir, DLH and Hatton is not all that impressive. FMJ's win over Hatton is just ever so slightly more significant than Cotto's over Malignaggi if only because Hatton has a large fanbase overseas. At least Cotto fought the Jr. Welterweight at Jr. Welter. In fact... Mosley, Judah, Urkal, Quintana is far more impressive, especially from a welterweight standpoint. This should have become more clear after Quintana disposed of PW this weekend.

still dont know why he didnt take the rematch, got a big draw was a great fight...wit a couple exceptions...cotto knew he was losin, knew zabs speed would destroy him, so he did what he had to do to win, even if that mean hittin a dude in the nuts, twice, hey he wanted to stay undefeated, i get it...he would get destroyed by pbf unless cotto pulled a couple more stunts

Zab had 5 minutes to recover from the initial accidental lowblow, but he asked the ref to start the action again straight away...and then to say the lowblows took alot out of him at the end of the fight, i dont understand that

We didn't really know how good Quintana was until tonight; He proved his worth in defeating and puttin' a whoopin' on the so called Punisher, Paul Williams. And with Williams beating Marg and Marg making Kermit cry, Miguel sits happy on top of the 147 pound wieght class. And it tells us a little something about how good Shane is at this stage of his career. Floyd is irrellevent at this point. He's chosen not to get involved with the best in the division; by avoiding danger I guess he keeps his "P4P" claim, at least that's how everyone else seems to see it. I don't, Floyd's out of the picture, Miguel is the man to beat at 147.
Floyd isn't irrelevant. He's the flat out Welter King.

Dear Arum: Please make Tony/Cotto happen. Kthanks.

thats fair, he did only take a minute for one, and 1 and half for the other...well, i think u can agree if uve ever been hit, even tapped in the balls it hurts for way more than 5 minutes, whats the sense in delayin the fight even longer, think back to the kosyta fight, he got up right away without even tihnkin about it and it costed him, in this case if he got up sooner or later, gettin hit there just dont go away in 5 mins, other than that i thought it was a badass fight like i say top 5 last eyar thas why we need a judah cotto II

do you think judah really wanted the Cotto rematch? of course not, yes he gave lip service that he did but did he really want it? did he show up to the mosley fight and demand Cotto fight him agian? did he have his promoter make Cotto a public offer he couldn't refuse? No.

judah only lip serviced that he wanted a rematch, judah does a lot of talking about fighting Margarito, and all the top guys. judah is a top talker. problem is when its time to walk the walk and fight the top guys he loses every time. judah can'[t hack it at the top level.
