No, never. I always find something interesting in a fight. I'd pick it over any other programming on TV.

but cory cannot sell a fight his style is not crowd pleasing or money worth.

I had mayorga winning, its funny how people say ring general ship? but you must also score aggression in my opinion and mayorga was aggressive and pressing the fight.
If it wasnt for Mayorga thier would have been no fight at all. On top of all that Spinks didnt even land any clean shots HIMSELF. He had zero offense. Who knows with Don King bouts, it gave Spinks the boost he needed. Still one of his best wins, even till today.

That's lame. Cory Spinks landed a ****load of clean left hands and you know it. Anytime someone loses and the excuse is that if he hadn't come forward "there would have been no fight" you know that guy lost. Why? Because when you are fighting a guy who is backing up or fighting completely defensively and has no power you get all of the benefit of the doubt when it comes to close rounds. Plus, you don't have to worry about getting hit hard. It's just a lame excuse. Why would Don King fix a fight in favor of a guy who only sells tickets in his hometown and who HBO hates? That's ******ed.

Don King is all about getting that cake. He and Kevin Cunningham weren't getting along at all at the time. It would have been much more lucrative for King if Mayorga had won. That way Cunningham couldn't complain that Spinks wasn't getting big fights and Mayorga would have been one of the biggest draws in boxing AND on a winning streak over slick boxers. It didn't happen because Spinks EARNED the decision. I can't believe people are still crying over this.

The thing is people describe Cory Spinks as being scared and running, but that runs counter to what you actually see. He fights ANYBODY. Part of that is because he doesn't really attract money, but most of that is because he's not scared.

Then there's the whole Mayorga thing. He fouled, pushed and tripped Spinks because he was frustrated and the people who despise defensive fighters want to believe those were knockdowns. Now, watch the Spinks-Judah fights. Zab knocked Cory Spinks senseless. THAT is how you knock a guy out. THAT is how you win fights. THAT is impressive.I don't want this to be a Spinks-Mayorga debate either because you're not going to change my mind. I'm a firm believer that defense is an important and underappreciated part of the sport.
He fights anybody because anytime he gets a chance it could be his last. When a big name fighter throws him a bone, is the only way he gets a big fight. They tell him to jump, he asks how high. Nobody gives a **** about Spinks, Taylor took the fight with him due to a time difference and couldnt get anybody else in time for the HBO date. What would Spinks be scared of? In reality he doesnt FIGHT anybody.

I never said defense wasnt important. Its when these 95% defensive fighters with ZERO Offense output win fights that I have a problem with. When they have no business winning is the only time people say anything.

As for the underlined. Now you have to KO a defensive fighter or cant get the win? So if they survive the 12, they automatically get the win?

darkstar dont waste your time with that fool he is all over the place and contradicts himself.

he said spinks won the fight but he was backing up and me and you seen that fight for mayorga not spinks.

but yet he said Zab judah knockout spinks and thats how you supposed to win a fight?

wtf so then spinks aint win , it should go to mayorga for trying to go for the kill.

that dude is seriously a yoyo.

Hey man do you. If you need somebody else to get you excited about a fight that's you, but don't come on a boxing message board complaining about how boxers aren't being hyped enough they don't do enough MTV appearances.

Everyone else in this message board likes boxing. Take your nostalgic rants to a Starbucks or a bougie cafe.
