Most boxing matches are boring. The good ones are so good, however, that we sit through laborious hours and hours of dull drivel waiting for one to appear. Its usually worth the wait in the end.

You're right, it will be an exciting fight but you got the thread creator all wrong. Since there won't be much televised promotion for the Vasquez-Marquez fight, he will not be enjoying it.

He needs Vasquz-Marquez 24/7 to tune in.

Gotta love this thread, especially on a boxing forum on saturday night when there were some compelling fights.

but it seems that Boxing promoters dont care on marketing and doing the hardwork anymore of getting a publicist getting there fighters constantly in the spotlight and interviews on radio, tv etc.
Tonight I first time in the long time fell asleep during the fight of williams vs quintana.

I think also they need to promote Andre Berto more how the hell can they get there name out there?

This is why stuff like MMA is doing a good job they know how to hype and get exposure and they won over the young white kids and teen girls which is plenty.
You fell asleep during the Williams-Quintana fight?

And...what exactly is your excuse? They didn't do enough late night talk show appearances before the fight?

There are dull spots...August is usually dull...but you get bored because boxers don't do enough gay gossipy stuff?

I really don't know what to say.

I don't agree with that at all. People are so hyperbolic these days. The average boxing match is no less boring than the average baseball/basketball/football game. It's just that because it's a fight some people demand nothing less than a barnburner.

I enjoy all boxing matches that have at least solid technique and not too much clinching. I only find sloppy fights boring. I think most people exaggerate how bored they are when they watch a tactical boxing match.

Your British of course you will find boxing exciting.British are like the only ones who really are die hard about boxing still.

I am a fan of boxing but lately there has been not enough hype, I think cause the build up and anticipation does it for me like the floyd jr vs hatton, and the pavlik vs taylor, izzy vs rafa, pacman vs marquez, and joe c vs b hop now those fights I will pay for and get amped for cause there is a purpose.
