I think you might be underestimating Shane Mosleys star power and celebrity. Itll do great PPV numbers and will sell-out wherever they place the fight. But I think what makes this fight more super than anything is the electricty and fireworks both men will produce in the ring.
Was Zab Judah Ever A Real Elite Fighter???

Both of these guys have been the "B" side of the major PPV's they've been in. If this is a PPV fight the buyrate will be interesting. A good buyrate would be an excellent sign for boxing. It will take some crafty promoting to pull that off though. Zab will talk all the smack but Shane will just smile.Comment

I really do think you're right. He has everything physically to be one of the greatest of his era. Unfortunately he is severely lacking in the mental strength department. His has no will power past the fourth round as has been shown time and time again. Also, when he gets hit his mind just flies right out the room, down the stairs, out the door and into the big blue sky....
Now, whether a different trainer would have been able to put some mental strength and endurance into him I don't know, but what I do know is that he would have had a better chance at becoming a great fighter with a great trainer than with his Dad.
It's a bit sad because he is one seriously gifted athlete. I don't think there is a better naturally gifted fighter in the sport today (yes, that includes Mayweather).Comment

Close but not quite there. I think he's a B level fighter, lost too many fights against the "A" level. Just MOI mean theres the fighters that have won championships... then theres the truly ELITE fighters like Ray Leonard, Ali, Mayweather, Jones, Hopkins, Trinidad, Morales, Barrera, Lewis, Tyson... like they werent just paper champions, they were truly elite fighters.... the ones that are truly above the rest.... im on boxec.com, and it looks like outside of Cory Spinks, if you wanna include him, hes lost to every major name...
Lets see
Mickey Ward: W - But was Ward ever an ELITE? I love his fights with Arturo as much as anyone else... but an ELITE?
Junior Witter - W - Dont know enough about him to comment.
Demarcus Corley - W - If you wanna include him.
Corey Spinks - W - TKO9
**I guess it comes down to were these wins good enough to place him at the TRUE ELITE level.
------------------------------------------------------------------
Kosta Tszyu - L - TKO in the 2nd.
Cory Spinks - L - UD12.
Carlos Baldomir - L - UD12.
Floyd Mayweather Jr. - L - UD12.
Miguel Cotto - L - TKO11.
It just seems, when he truly got to the elite fighters, Baldomir and Spinks depending... he couldnt handle it.
It seems like he has the tools to be elite... but somethings missing...
This isnt a hate Zab thread either, got nothin against the kid.Comment

Zab seemed like an elite level fighter in the 1st round against Tszyu, the rematch against Cory Spinks, the title defense against Cosme Rivera and the first few rounds against Mayweather.
Too bad he couldn't keep it up.
Is he an elite level fighter overall? No.
Was he considered an elite level fighter at some point of his career?
Yes. Even if it was for only a few months/minutes.Comment

margarito is debatable. the bigger problem is they haven't fought the same fighters in the same weight class so that type of comparison seems difficult to quantify?Comment
