I think lonngevity is a serious trait, which kinda makes tyson a serious iffy on the elite status thing... yeah level of opposition, weight classes, defenses, p4p ranking i suppose could all factor in...

No, Zab is in that grey area where he is better than most prospects but is not an elite class fighter, and thats why he has been making such a great living lately.

Well if its longevity, Judah has that. The only way you can attain that is by remaining relevant. The only way you can remain relevant is by being able to competitively participate in the sport. Despite his losses, Judah always gave a game effort and rebounded effectively. He came back from a loss to Tszyu to beat Corley, loss to Spinks but won the rematch, and gave a good effort in his bouts with Baldomir, Mayweather and Cotto and despite the fact that he loss all three, is STILL being considered for a super fight with Mosley. Not to mention he is currently ranked #5 by the RING MAG, #9 by the WBA, and #3 by the IBF. If you ask me, Judah has longevity and some. Just my 2 cents. I know boxing.

Anyone that loses to a journeyman/fringe contender like Carlos Baldomir, while still in their prime and not injured, was never elite.

Zab got undenialable GREAT skills, BUT TOO MUCH OF LACK OF DISCIPLINE TO BE CONSIDER ELITE.

Considering that at 34, Baldomir had never even contended for a world title before, even after 56 fights, in which he had 9 losses and 6 draws (mostly against Argentine fighters) and was such a huge underdog against Judah that the betting was shut down on the fight, I'd say yeah.

If he'd had a different trainer maybe the outcome would have been different.
