Thomas Hearns was thin in the legs and he's chinney, Vernon Forrest is very thin in the legs and he's chinney as well. Chad Dawson is also thin in the legs. Could being thin in the legs be a disadvantage?

Could be that skinny legs, mean a leaner physique in general i.e. taller boxers for the weight. This would tend to give them reach advantage, but usually mean thinner limbs and neck (proportionatley); a strong neck helps a lot when taking shots, its a shock absorber, so yeah, the theory may hold true, but although some thicker set individuals just seem to be able to take the big shots - some don't (e.g. David Haye, big neck, but comparatively chinny)Comment

Usually skinny legs mean a skinny neck too. That may have more to do with the ability to absorb a blow to the chin.Comment

they are all tall fighters ,i think that is the biggest Issue it is harder to defend against punches that are coming from underneath & up around your guard especially if your being pushed back ,dont forget the smaller man is always punching up most of the time & the majority of his punches have more possibilty of landing on the point of the chin due to the height of his oponentComment
