    Best Right Hook?

Everyone knows that certain orthodox fighters are better with one punch or the other.

Usually quicker and slicker is better with the straight right hand.

Usually stronger and more aggressive is better with the left hook.

Those are not written in stone, but it is clear that there are fighters who are miles better with one than the other.

But not many southpaws rip people apart with their right hook. They are almost all dependent on the straight left.

Can anyone think of a southpaw who relies on the right hook (other than Manny Pacquiao of course )?

        Lol.

I forgot, Floyd Mayweather fights orthodox, so this thread has probably already reached it's potential.

I tried hard to come up with a current fighter who qualifies, but I came up empty.

Hell, I'll even take historical, because I can't think of any... at all.

Marvin Hagler had a good right hook. A 1980's lightweight contender named Andy Ganigan had a very good one. A few smaller Mexican fighters I can't think of at this minute too. For a current fighter the closest I could come up with is Chad Dawson.

There is barely any. No one comes to mind at all. When you talk about the best as in power. It will always be the straight right and left hook and vice versa. The right hook comes from too far away for an othodox fighter. And loses power. The straight right is just easier to land and quicker.

Julian Jackson is orthodox but his looping right hand haymakers put people out cold.

Does Michael Moorer count as a present fighter? lol

There is an obvious answer that I can't believe people are missing. Chad Dawson. He is a "fake" southpaw in the sense that he's actually right handed. Both of his hands are great, but his lead hand (and therefore right hook) is his best.
