I understand you're a fan of Wright and you have the right to predict him to win. But you should also understand he would not be a heavy favorite in this.

And he would be a heavy underdog against Kessler, whom it appear he's ducked. He would be a marginal favorite over Abraham.

I loved Winky against Mosley, but that was a long time ago and against a lightweight.

    Give or take
no offense or anything HItman, but those are Horrible odds IMO.

If any of you guys know Graham Houston the fightwriter, i actually emailed him about PAVLIK-LEE if it were made today. He said Lee would come in nothing better then a 6-1 dog.

Wright is a step down from Pavlik at this point in Wrights career IMO. But not that much.

Id put Lee at a 4-1 or 5-1 underdog, and he would NOT win a minute of any round in the fight. His straight left could bloody Wrights nose at some point in the fight, but thats as good as it would get for Lee

I'd put some serious cash down if it Was -175 Wright, but I'm with Kball on this one. I think it's at least 3 and a half to one underdog for Lee.

kball's two favorite fighters are Wright and Pavlik, so it's understandable he's ****ting his pants on this one

I'd put money on Lee if he was such an underdog, my head would say Wright. But He's a big middle against light middle who is ageing fast. He was a world class amateur, and would have come up against all sorts of styles in the ams. He has world class sparring, and a world class trainer, and he is far more active which is important. He is also probably the hungrier fighter, wright has seen it and done it.

Wright is not going to knock him out. It's a boxing match. Lee has pedigree.
It's not a complete mismatch at all really.

This isn't just my opinion. thats straight from a profession odds maker, Graham Houston.

Lee is no where CLOSE to being ready for a championship caliber fight, and its almostly laughable that anyone would think he could be.

If Emanuel Steward hadn't said anything, everyone would agree. Lee has never fought anything CLOSE to a live opponent.

Wright-Lee and Pavlik-Lee are both mismatches. And as much as I love both guys, i am very objective about them and make honest predictions with what i really believe to be true. I can garuntee you before Pavliks and Wrights careers are over, i will have picked them to lose close fights multiple times. I thought Pavlik was going to lose to Miranda and i thought Wright was going to lose to Taylor so...

kball I know you try to be objective and I respect you for that. But your opinions are also easy to read. When Lee fights twice on FNF you might like him, but so long as he's on internet feed from Europe you're not interested.

And Wright has already lost multiple close fights. The next step for him is to drop down to gatekeeper status. He needs money, he will be fighting contenders before long. Maybe not this year, but before long.

                    Andy Lee vs Winky?

                    Wednesday, February 6 2008

                    By Karl Freitag

Manager/trainer Emanuel Steward told *********.com on Tuesday that his unbeaten 23-year-old middleweight Andy Lee (15-0, 12 KOs) will soon be taking a major step up and that he expect Lee to become a world champion by 2009. Steward said Lee would be back in camp with Wladimir Klitschko on Thursday and will headline an ESPN2 card on March 21 [against Brian Vera], followed by an April 10th fight in Detroit. Then comes a date in Ireland against former world title challenger Howard Eastman. After that Steward said he wants to put Lee in with Winky Wright, which would position Lee to fight for the title

                      That's awesome.
I really want to see Andy Lee lose, and if he ever steps in the ring with Winky, he will.
