Multiple Weight Champion doesn'nt always give a fair reflection of a fighters legacy ,anyone agree

most of the Mulitple weight Champions identify the easiest safest way to acheive success in the Highere weight divisions by identifying & beating the weaker Champions in their division

i mean was Roy ever Heavyweight Champion not IMO he was 'nt i mean if there was'nt one recognised number 1 at the time he could have claimed to be whilst Holding a title there ,however with Lennox Lewis clearly THE heavweight Champion i dont see how Roy can make that claim

Oscar has 5 losses on his record has lost twice to Mosley [should have won the 2nd]should have lost to Quartey & Whitaker ,Sterm, did lose to Hopkins & Trinidad

yet him being a 6 weight world champion gives people a different Impression of him

it's just one way to look at things.

winning world titles in multiple weight classes is impressive, but it has to be taken into account how things have changed over the years.

more weight classes, more alphabet organizations, different weigh-in rules, etc...

The fact that there are so many paper belts makes your statement very true. If it were back to only one legit champion in every division this wouldn't be a problem. Damn sanctioning bodies.

It doesnt matter what the **** you say, it matters what the history says. And the history says Roy Jones Jr. was at one time A HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPION. How could you say he was not a real HW Champ? He beat the champ and was a champ period. If he had a belt he was the champ. It was 1 of the 3 major titles, so how is that a paper title?

for instance, cotto is a 2 division titlist.

he won a vacant wba 147 lb. belt on his first fight up from 140 (barring early career fights when he didn't make the weight)

does anyone picture de la fishnet making 130 or 135 in the days of same-day weigh ins? was jimmy breadhl a legitimate top fighter at 130?

when pbf beat gatti for the wbc belt @ 140, how good was gatti compared to the other titlists? tszyu or hatton probably would have destroyed gatti. cotto most likely would have too. harris, well, the next floyd beat gatti, harris was getting beaten up by maussa, so maybe that's one titlist that gatti would have beaten.

even in the old days, there was assorted alphabet soup.

not to the extent it is today, but they had their politics and bull**** too.

look at the end of archie moore's light heayvweight reign.
