He is right, the ref did a bad job in that fight. Mayweather elbowed Hatton repeatedly and ref did nothing. Hatton will be back, i thought he did real good against floyd. And i find it funny when people give floyd credit for "fighting in the inside" floyd was forced to fight in the inside. If he every fights floyd again it should be at 140 after all floyd says he fights at differnt division.
Hatton: 'Every time I hit Floyd I was scared of getting warned'

hmm... not exactly imo. Floyd was forced to fight. fighthing on the inside was partly a choice. If he went the way Ricky was trying in the very early rounds, they would have been trading at midrange, still fighting, but not fighting on the inside. He is right, the ref did a bad job in that fight. I also think Ricky was doing good in the early stages, then he started coming in on straight lines, and holding immediately. Partly the ref's fault, partly his faut, partly Floyd's work.
And finally Floyd was elbowing like crazy, I was cool with that, until the ref deducted Ricky a point. Double standards to me, or just Floyd being really sneaky.Comment

When I say Hatton was robbed, I mean he was robbed of a fair shot.
All the Floyd stans bitched about the refereeing in England, Floyd himself bitched about not fighting in England because of the reffing yet Hatton goes to America and gets screwed by the most famous and supposedly best ref out there.
How is this fair?Comment

I think Hatton was just being honest to the interviewer. He's not the type to lie if thats how he really felt.
He felt the ref was against him, if you were in his shoes getting elbowed, having a guy turn his back, getting a point deducted for no contact at all, and getting split up because the other guy was locking your arm, how would you feel?
And this isn't about who's the better boxer, its about a fair shot.Comment

You're absolutely right. Hatton was doing very well except the ref was on him for no good reason at every moment in the early rounds. When he deducted the point it caused him to lose his focus and become frustrated.I think Hatton was just being honest to the interviewer. He's not the type to lie if thats how he really felt.

Hatton needed to fight on the inside because of Floyd's tremendous advantage in reach of 26" to 20" but every time he got close Cortez was protecting Mayweather.
I would like to see Hatton vs. Mayweather in a fair fight, with a neutral referee.Comment

Hattons performance on the night in question was one of his worst performances to date.
He needed to pressure Mayweather with a high punch output, which he did not do, in fact I can`t remember any good inside work from Hatton, he was head hunting.
He looked slow, predictable and generally out of his depth after the 6th round.
Hatton wants a rematch and he'll probably get one, but he doesn`t deserve one.Comment

It was annoying to watch someone with all the disadvantages be further disadvantaged by the ref. And to all those that say the ref is an excuse, even Roy Jones said the ref was disrupting the fight when he was on FNF a few weeks ago.Comment

Hatton lost virtually every round on the judges score cards
Judges scoring: Paul Smith (88-82), Dave Moretti (89-81), Burt Clements (89-81) - all for Mayweather at the time of stoppageLast edited by CardioMonster; 02-01-2008, 08:40 AM.Comment

To me PBF didn't throw elbows what PBF did do was put his guard up high with his elbows out and let Hatton run right into them charging in all reckless. There is a difference between throwing elbows and putting your elbows in position for your opponent to run into them. I am not saying that the **** wasn't dirty. After rewatching the fight COrtez didn't do a good job. At the sametime though Hatton wasn't doing **** when got on the inside. **** even Steward said that even though the fight is going at Hatton pace and style he is not doing anything.Comment
