But yeah we lifted like 4 times a week and ran on the 5th. We did a lot of compound lifts, Hangcleans, squats and benchpress. We did it all really, it was great for our team. Also in ohio the weather is really cold in the winter so we couldnt do anything outside so we just got into better shape indoors. I dont know why any player wouldnt, It really helps your power and durability. What did you guys do to get ready for the season?
When I went to school our weight room wasn't that good, but I personally got ready for the season by taking a ton of reps in the cage and a ton of groundballs, plus getting my arm in good shape as well. We did that inside as well plus somedays outside when the weather was nice here in Colorado. Since our school was pretty small there were many of us that played multiple sports, I didn't play a winter sport, but many of my teammates did.

Your right it probably doesn't hurt and if I would have lifted more it probably would have helped, but I know for myself at the time I was 6'0 155 and a buddy of mine who was 5'7 135 and we led our team in homeruns. Part of the reason was because me and him lived and breathed baseball since we were young, plus we had the best hitting technique on the team. I just always felt that technique was a hell of a lot more important than strength. I
knew many players that were stronger than me, but couldn't hit it as far or hard as me.

I went to a pretty big school so it was pretty much do the team workouts or forget about it. I wouldnt change anything aout it tho, the weights helped. But come spring we were outside on the usual baseball drills.
