    Rid**** Bowe wasted talent

Rid**** Bowe was a wasted talent ,he was good inside ,quick ,powerfull ,determined despite what the media believed pre Holyfield ,his left jab was accurate & snapy ,decent defence

i think Bowe's jab ranks up there with Holmes ,Ali ,Lewis as one of the best Heavyweight jabs ever ,i would have loved to have seen Bowe v Lewis [Proffesionlally] both had tremendous power both had superb Jabs both had questionable chins aswell IMO , i know people will say Bowe's Chin was okay but Bowe was rocked by Holyfield in there 2nd fight stopped by Lewis in the [Amateurs]knocked down by Holyfeild in the 3rd fight & even admitted that little Herbie Hide shook him up a bit in there fight, he was also flawed in Golota 2[great fight ],so in my estimation both of them had good chins but they could be vulnerablea at times IMO ,both were masters Boxers with great jabs

i feel Bowe is overlooked when ever we discuss top Heavyweights we throw Tyson in there etc but Bowe always get omitted ,i think Bowe had the capability to be as dominent as Tyson in his prime had he been able to control his eating habits

bowe had so much potential, he just didn't have the desire or work ethic, i think he could've been great

i think lack of dedication is the right word to describe Bowe , i would'nt question his desire to fight but maybe his desire to be great yeah i agree with that

I think Bowe's chin was pretty good, he could take bombs and he had heart but his defense was almost non-existant, especially when he got into the brawling mode.

Sure he was dropped by Holyfield but so was Ray Mercer, Holyfield could drop you because he kept coming when he had his man hurt. Bowe took ridiculous shot in all three fights with Holyfield.

He was also beat up by Golota, badly beaten in the second fight but refused to lose. Bowe seemingly had no heart outside the ring but inside it he would give and take punishment.

Bowe was very good, he was fast for his size, his jab was very good and his uppercut was powerful. He lacked defense though.

Newman was good and bad for Bowe. He didn't let Bowe fight any big, powerful punchers who could exploit Bowe's lack of defense but at the same time that also led to accusations of Bowe ducking Lewis.

I think Bowe was willing to fight Lewis but Newman didn't want it to happen.

i think Bowe defence was decent if not good , it was just that he was so much bigger & stronger than most of his openents that he neglected what was coming back at him especially when in an exchange as u menationed

his uppercuts where a thing of beuty ,he hit Holyfield & Coetzer with some viscious uppercuts

had bowe worked hard, continued to improve on his gifts, and not squandered his god given talents he would more than likely have been an atg! total waste! sad really!

bowe had good skills but was a big softy which is why rock newman kept him away from guys his size that could punch like lewis and ruddock. anyone bowe's size that had some skill and power would have taken him out

It wasn't just his lazy work ethic outside the ring, it was his defence and slugging ways that ended his prime. Taking that much punishment from Holyfield will take a lot out of any man, and with Bowe's defence, I don't think he could have ever reigned like others.

i think Bowe's defence looked worse because he was so tall it is hard to slip shots bend at the Knees or waste & be illusive when your are so tall , i know people will think Lennox had a better defence but in reallity i dont think he did its just bowe would look to fight inside & Lewis would look to hold inside

Bowe's machismo to take it to his oponents & fight inside are why his defence looked so awfull & the fact he was how mcuh bigger than most the guys he fought so he felt he would bully them rather than Box

if Bowe had boxed Evander in the 2nd fight or come in shape LOL ,he would have won easily Holyfield had no answer for Bowe's jab

Bowe had great potential, Eddie Futch said of all the fighters he had trained, Bowe could've been the best. He had very good inside fighting for such a big guy and a very good jab and right cross but he lacked the discipline after he became champion, the difference between the first and second Holyfield fight tells the story, he looked lean and fit for the first but for the second he looked like he went on the McDonald's diet.
