Chambers obviously felt Povetkin's power through the gloves. From the 5th round and on, it was like he became resigned to just stay on his feet. I KNOW he didn't expect a knockout.

But yes, I agree that he is the more talented fighter. It was will vs. skill, and the will won out in the end.

You guys are badly misled if you want to take too much consolation in Chambers' effort. He showed some skill but he doesn't have the physical or mental strength to be a top fighter. He lost by four to six points against Povetkin, so how are you going to claim he proved to be something special?

He would lose to any big name heavyweight, and if he was in the top ten before last night, he isn't anymore and won't be again.

If he really wants to he could win a cruiserweight title. But that will require dedication that it's not clear he has.

I should add that Povetkin did not prove too much either. It was a good fight, but what it showed was that neither guy is at the top of the division.

I'd pick Povetkin to lose badly to Ibragimov, Chagaev, and Peter. And I think several others could beat him.

If Chambers had thrown more punches he could've won the fight, they landed about the same number punches throughout the fight but Pavotkin threw 550 more punches, when Chambers opened up, Povetkin had no answer for him, who knows why he didn't.

Why does everyone say "if" Chambers threw more punches. There is no if. Povetkin forced him into that shell with the pressure.

They both didnt look in shape at all and if chambers would of thrown more he would of caught povektin because the guy didnt have any defense at one point he was just throwing alot of punches.

I didn't see Povetkin forcing him into a shell at all, in the early rounds Chambers was letting his hands go and was winning through 5, he was blocking Povetkin's shots and coming back with his own, from then on he only threw 25 punches per round.

That wasn't Chambers fault it was Povetkins. If Povetkin stood in front of him and tryed to win from mid range Chambers would of picked him off. But he didn't. Which is why "fast" eddie got tired and ended up losing.

Chambers was very fresh towards the end of the fight, he could have thrown more than 25 punches per round, Povetkin was the one who was tired, can't blame him for that, he threw almost a 1000 punches.
