Mosley-Mayorga in the works?

Actually it was 164,but that was due to Vargas. I already said that he could never fight at 147 again. Maybe 154 but a catchweight of 158 is more likey. But keep in mind this was Mosleys people making the comment so I guess thier ready for this. They know Mayorga isnt a welter anymore.

Sure Mosley can be effective in the mid 150's like he has been before. I just don't see why he'd move up to that weight for Mayorga, especially if he plans to go right back down to 147 again. I guess at this stage of his career Shane is taking it one fight at a time and he realizes the Mayweather fight probably is never going to happen. I'd rather see him fight somone like Judah at 147.

i disagree. since he is looking at jr. middles, mosley/spinks or mosley/sturm would be much more interesting

You think Spinks in... ANY fight would be more INTERESTING than Mayorga? Honestly? Think about that comment for a while........... Mosley hits atleast AS hard as Judah, doesn't fade and has abetter chin. What's more is that Spinks couldn't hurt his chin even if he has a bad chin. It's a boring, easy win for Mosley, if you want my honest opinion.

Sturm, on the other hand is a 160 pound fighter. Shane did bad at 154, due to weight in my personal opinion. Why would an even BIGGER weight disadvantage be MORE interesting than a more even fight of Mayorga and Mosley at 147 or a catch weight at 152-156?

Mosley/Spinks would be interesting because Shane would make Spinks fight. Shane has that speed brawler come foward style and that would cause fireworks if hes matched against a pure boxer like Spinks. Shane would definatley bring the best out of him. I personally would favor Spinks in that fight. Shane has always had trouble with pure boxers with a good jab and while Spinks lacks in the power department, i think that his counterpunching and pure boxing ability would win the fight. The only way i see it being close on the cards is when Spinks fades late, the way he always does.

Judah would simply out box him and stop him in the later rounds in my opinion. We all know that Mayorga can take a punch, but its the punches that you dont see is what would hurt you the most and even though Zab is past his best, he would move to his right and counter the weak left jab of Mayorga with a big left hand up top. It would be similar to the Mayorga/Spinks fight but Zab has more power than Spinks so he would do alot more damage. Mayorga can not handle those A class pure boxers like that. He would get out boxed badly.

Margarito has never been in with anyone like Mayorga? He has been in with better if you ask me. Margarito is just too much for Mayorga. Margarito has a cast iron chin and has been in with bigger and more acurate punchers than Mayorga. He would keep coming foward and landing those body shots and straight punches, which would eventually wear Mayorga down and out.

Cintron has every tool to beat Mayorga but the question is would his heart stay there for the whole fight? He could very well break down again if Mayorga keeps the heat on him but Mayorga is not that type of fighter. He is not the kind of fighter that comes in with game plans and sticks to it. He is an ordinary wild fighter and his style is kind of ameturish. He is wild and throws these wide looping puches, which would give Cintron his oppurtunities to shoot that power left hook in and picks his spots from a distance.

Wow. According to your logic Mayorga shouldnt have won a fight in his life. You could cut down and sell any fighter short like that. If Baldomir yes Carlos Baldomir beat Judah, thier is no doubt in my mind what Mayorga would do to him. Judah couldnt even KO Edwin Vazquez or Ryan Davis on ESPN friday night fights.lol

Cintron has done nothing but beat nobodys. Margarito and Cintron put together havent faced or accomplished half of what Mayorga has.

addi do u really want to see it??? i mean do u think it will be a different result this time because i believe it will be a wider victory for cotto if it ever happens he already know mosley's flaws let me hear ur opinion.

Both guys played it safe at different points in the first fight and kept the lid on what could have been something far more significant. A fight of the year candidate. These two are still potentially an extremely explosive matchup.

I think there's a chance that Mosley comes out far more aggressive in a rematch and gives us, at least, what we were all hoping for in the first encounter. War.

Good post. Mayorga fight means more money than both of them combined. HBO wouldnt even approve Spinks. Anyone who even mentioned Sturm is a completely lost. A current middleweight beltholder, with no market value going to fight Mosley at super welter? LOL
