If De La Hoya had any chance of beating Cotto at this point in his career, he wouldn't be picking a guy with 2 losses in his last 3 fights (one to a clubfighter), 9 KOs in 38 fights and who's fought most of his career between 129 and 140, as his next opponent.

To say Oscar is done after going 12 rounds with the best and losing only a split decision, at the age of 35 mind you, is a fighter who is done??? LOL

What Oscar did was amazing, to be able to take Mayweather 12 rounds without embarassing himself and actually putting in a good fight. I know you want to see a KO drag out fight like 98% of "so called" boxing fans but to those of us who have actually boxed and appreciate the sport, the level they displayed in the ring that night was incredible.

Even at 35 years old, I don't think Cotto can deal with DLH speed and boxing ability. The only way Cotto wins is if DLH gets caught with a KO punch in which Cotto hasn't really shown he's a 1 punch KO artist or Cotto is relentless and wears DLH out.
Floyd isn't the best boxer out there, Miguel Cotto is better than him and that's why Floyd and Oscar would never fight Cotto. also a lot of boxers have gone the whole 12 rounds with Floyd and 3 of them also fought Cotto and they all lost by ko/tko to Cotto, and if DLH dare to fight Cotto his going to suffer the same luck. Shane Mosley is a better boxer than DLH becuse he did beat DLH twice and he also lost to Cotto.

I wish Cotto could get a fight with either DLH or Floyd! He would defeat both!!!

I should be asking you that question. so mayweather beat him and de la hoya should be looking somewhere else? isn't that called not avenging your loss. Its like Ali never avenging his loss to Frazier. would ppl still be saying that Ali is as good as he is? of course not. De La Hoya is being the bigger man by taking this fight again cuz this is the biggest challenge that he has right now. this has been de la hoya's career, taking the biggest possible challenge out there. and unfortunatley it has somewhat tarnished his legacy which it shouldn't. he should be awarded for taking on the best possible opponents. he could easily be a career unbeaten if he had avoided all those big name fights but he didn't.

castillo got ko'd by hatton, something mayweather couldn't do would that have meant that hatton was gonna ko mayweather? and mosley-cotto was a clear out draw. all my friends and I were watching the fight and we all agreed(which is a first) that the fight should've been a draw. and de la hoya clearly won the 2nd fight between him and mosley. de la hoya and mayweather would beat cotto.

its called a tune-up fight. dlh isn't fighting cotto cuz cotto fights nothing like mayweather. this way he is gonna be training the whole year for mayweather instead of just 4 months prior to the mayweather fight cuz he would be training for cotto's style of fighting.

i think that de la hoya is a much better boxer technically than cotto, is a better finisher,, has a better chin and is a heavier puncher, cotto to win the early rounds with sustained pressure on de la hoya, but then for de la hoya to press forward, finding his mark with that left hook of his pushing cotto back, unloading and finishing him off by tko in maybe the 7th or 8th round

Oscar would win. Hell, Oscar has a good chance of beating Mayweather later this year. People need to do a little research, this guy is still very dangerous.

It does proof that any averege fighter can last whole 12 rounds with Floyd

And you are your friends are official boxing judges?

and to me an to the judges he lost! While you think he might have won some fights I think he lost the Sturn fight and the Ike Quartey fight but that don't mean much cuz neither you or me are official boxing judges!

I have yet to see a sign of dlh being past his prime. I havn't seen one thing that tells me he is old. saying that losing to mayweather all of a sudden makes him old is insane. mayweather is one of the greatest talents that boxing has ever seen and DLH gave him a tough fight and it doesn't show up in any records but it still counts for something.

I don't see DLH taking a decision in this one. I see a TKO from a flurry of precision punches in round 10.
