Margarito: "Oscar, Come Fight a Real Mexican"

He says he's willing to fight Vernon Forrest, that was the most important peice of information in the article for me. Throwing De la hoyas name out there is just for publicity and attention, even the article acknowledges the chances of it being made are slim to none, but it goes on to state he would be willing to fight Forrest as well. I think that when it comes to the tiop fighters today Oscar is irrelevant and he's being used for publicity in this case, we all know this would never be made, so does Arum and Margarito's people, but callign out Oscar is a publicity stunt.

I can't believe Tony would call out Forrest when he's sitting on a Cotto fight. He might just get what he asks for because Vernon doesn't really have anything going on. Cotto is the one who brings the payday. Using Forrest to tune up for him is insane. He tried that last year with Williams. As far as calling out Oscar, he might as well call out Mike Tyson. Same chance of it happening.

I think Oscar was robbed vs Floyd AND I dont want to see a rematch. The reasons are simple and not hypocritical: The emergence of Miguel Cotto and the return of Oscar to the welterweight ranks.

Yeah Tony is a crazy mother****er willing to take some risks, but Arum won't let him take any unneccesary risks that might spoil his big payday this time, when the fight with Cotto would be even bigger.

While I personally kind of want to see the rematch, the timing of it makes me really not want to see it in light of all the match ups that should have come first. This was not the case directly after Oscar/Floyd I.

Because all fighters lie to simply mix things up a little bit. I think the contract will be signed at a catchweight of 150 or something. Catchweights are becoming more popular now and oscar MAY be able to make 150 now that his body is a little older. If jones can make 169 pounds, I suppose oscar can slime down to 150 with enough dedication.

They said he wouldn't fight Paul Williams either, but he went against his promoter and got that fight made. Margarito is hungry and likes to fight. Winky never took that challenge because he overpriced himself. Tony is probably lucky he didn't though to be honest.
