It has never made sense for Ricky to fight Junior until now. Never. And now it makes more sense to fight someone who isn't awkward so Hatton can get back into the swing of things before he fights an awkward guy like Junior.

But Hatton isn't a hypocrite. Fighting Hatton was the biggest most lucrative option for Mayweather by far at the time. I have heard rumours that the Mayweather fight had been discussed before the Castillo fight, I'm not saying they are true but it's certainly a possibility. Witter is not the biggest fight for Hatton at 140 lbs. Malignaggi is. And honestly without Hatton nobody would be talking about Witter. The reason he is being mentioned is because of the usual mean-spirited nonsense on internet boxing forums. It's not enough to not like a fighter, you have to hate him. Hey Hatton isn't on his own. How many people came out with "Mayweather is ducking Cotto the big old coward!!!111oneone"? If it wasn't for people disliking Hatton (or choosing to troll against Hatton fans, whatever) Witter would by (on the internet as well as in real life) fighting for peanuts in the Doncaster Dome.

This, coming from a guy who proudly admitted to attempting to goad Mayweather out of "retirement" by mocking his ENTIRE career with ONE LINE.

True, Hatton hadn't done this his WHOLE career, and Mayweather would have porbably taken the fight anyway. Nonetheless, Hatton did admit to attempting to lure Floyd in by cheap-shotting him, and then got his biggest payday.

Hatton fans; Don't use the "it was a smart move" **** because anytime Mayweather has done a "smart business move" you've "slagged" him for it.

Yes, Floyd is a hypocrite. The Cotto fight makes decent money. And he said it's all about the money. Now, he's got the De La Hoya option, so that excuses his hypocrisy due to the fact that he IS making more money with THIS fight.

Nonetheless, he's still a hypocrite. When he came up, he complained that the biggest fighters didn't give the toughest challenger a fight and now.. He does the same thing.

Yes they are. We aren't taklking about who deserves what. Because Hatton didn't DESERVE a shot either. he fought ONCE at 147 and looked ****. That's not EARNING a damn thing. Nonetheless, Witter has been a REIGNING champion at 140 and has lost only once to a guy he fought when he was still pretty green. Looked decent in that fight, anyway. Hatton has avoided him for a while.

Hatton was the one who said he wanted the fight so bad. That's supposed to be the reason he left Warren, isn't it. No big fights and Hatton said Warren promised him a Witter fight that never happened. He said he had "nasty remarks" under pictures of Witter in his gym. It made sense, in THAT regard for those two to fight. Also, hatton has been a draw for a long time. ANyone he FOUGHT is a draw, especially if the guy has an actual shot. Witter had one, and I'm sure most of Hattons fans know that. So, financially it makes sense.

They went to watch him knock out bums, they'd watch him fight Witter.

Now, if you want to say, too big a risk without the shot of a big payday. That's a good argument. Just don't give Mayweather **** when he is in the same situation.
