    ..Is Ricky Hatton A Hypocrite?...

Ricky Hatton: I don't know whether I want to give him the best pay day of his life. When someone slags you off you don't repay them by giving them their best payday.

This, coming from a guy who proudly admitted to attempting to goad Mayweather out of "retirement" by mocking his ENTIRE career with ONE LINE.

True, Hatton hadn't done this his WHOLE career, and Mayweather would have porbably taken the fight anyway. Nonetheless, Hatton did admit to attempting to lure Floyd in by cheap-shotting him, and then got his biggest payday.

Hatton fans; Don't use the "it was a smart move" **** because anytime Mayweather has done a "smart business move" you've "slagged" him for it.

So, I ask the question... Is Ricky Hatton a hypocrite?

yeah sure he's a hypocrite. but **** it, he's a boxer, he's not campaigning for president.

There is more to Junior Witter and Ricky Hatton than 'the payday'. It could be a case of that Junior has hounded Ricky for so long, that Ricky's now weighed up the possibility that if he lost, how ****ing bad would it look.

Good point. I'm not saying he isn't smart for it. I have just acknowledged BOTH Mayweather AND Hatton's smart moves. You have to do both in order for it to be a fair and balanced discussion. And SOME Hatton fans fail to do that.

FURTHERMORE, this is NOT a Hatton hate thread. I like the guy. I just want him to fight in the best fights possible. Right now, that's Malignaggi or Witter.

The problem with boxing is.. if you deserve a shot you must badger & mock the hell out of the "big name fighter" untill they finally give it to you..maybe.

Yes, But it was the only way of getting him to fight Hatton.

I'm a Ricky Hatton fan and I want this fight to go on but his excuses are ridiculous and lame. This is the fight fans want to see and he is denying us a good fight.

Yeah I get ya. I think Ricky's great myself. I met him and his brother in october gone, and I learnt a lot about ricky there. By that I mean, there were no cameras rolling, and he was giving absolutley everybody the time of day. Little kids could go up sit beside him and he'd chat boxing with them, sign their items, etc. I'm rambling...but I just wanted to get that point across he's a top guy.

Seperate, yeah you've made good point anyway and I hadn't thought of it like that before. Prob cause they did well marketing Ricky as the good guy, and I havn't thought negatives of how he lured Floyd out. lol.

The Witter fight worries me anyway, ever since I saw the Vivian Harris fight, I've had a horrible feeling Ricky would lose against him. But...it's a fight that should happen.

Witter has been trash talking about Hatton for years, Hatton made ONE disrespectful comment to Mayweather on TV, not the same thing.

Still, this is a silly reason to not fight someone, I hope the fight happens this year and then people will wonder what all the fuss was about, regarding Witter.
