Floyd is right when he says it though, Hatton's fans came to see HIM, not Ricky, lol. Ricky couldn't fill an arena without Floyd

You can not discredit Floyd for what he has done inside the ring at all. Hes always wanted to fight the best and hes always beat the best.

However is Mayweather one day gonna look back on his fan-free career and feel as much pride as De La Hoya or Hatton? These fighters bring thousands of fans along with them to every fight and thats something Floyd has never been able to do.

Its a shame because I feel that Mayweather is probably one of the nicer guys in the sport. When hes not acting up to be the bad guy for a potential fight he seems like a nice guy who has time for the average boxing fan. He gets all the respect in the world for his fighting abilities but his fans got a shut out in his hometown. Not cool.

What I find hilarious is that you are using the name Haterfree and are quick to label anyone that says anything even slightly negative about Floyd a Hater, yet by your own definition you are an extreme Calzaghe hater and even went so far as to say that he is scared of the current version of Roy Jone Jr and are already trying to discredit a victory (if he gets one) over Hopkins, who is the Ring Champ and #1 ranked LHW, as well as top 5 p4p.

I don't "hate" Floyd. I respect the hell out of his boxing ability and think he was a very exciting fighter at 130 and 135. I'm not a big fan of his current style of fighting and I think as the #1 rated boxer in the world, he should be fighting the best in the world, which he doesn't seem to have any plans to do at the moment. He has earned the right to fight who he wants, and hell let him fight Oscar 10 more times if he wants. But in doing that, I have the right to laugh at him when he claims he's the best boxer that ever lived.

I feel some of what you are saying. But do you honestly think Floyd Mayweather has no fans? Just because alot of his fans might not have money to buy overpriced tickets to the fights & hotels dont mean they dont watch him fight. Go check his PPV buys. He was doing close to half a million pre Oscar.

Who hasn't he fought that wasn't the best?

He's fought the best at 130
He's fought the best at 135
He's fought the best at 140 (albeit in another division)
He's fought the best at 147 (Cotto only being in the picture for about 4-5 months now)
And I still say Oscar is the best at 154.

What people are forgetting is that Floyd is still only 30 years old. Assuming that Floyd wins the rematch against Oscar and Cotto continues to win, I promise you, Floyd WILL fight and beat Cotto as well.

But then there will be Williams, Berto, etc. There will ALWAYS be someone for Floyd to beat, and by using that logic, Floyd will have never "proved" himself.

he calls himself the best fighter to ever live, and so the hell what. his his opinion, and he has a legacy to fill before glorifying someone else's. he believes he is the best to ever lace up boxing shoes, and he has every right to feel this way, because all great fighters believe or should believe in their abilities, and if someone disagrees with this, then that's also fine and people don't have to like it. but, when you read posts like, well if only floyd acted this way or acted that way, meaning nice and humble, etc, he would have more fans, and wouldn't get called the names he does, then this is only showing me that you guys bleed his persona into his skill set, and putting in what i just explained you guys do into your posts and threads, you take away substance from your logic. you people seem to feel imo that persona is just as important as skill level, which is false. kobe bryant is one of the best players of the last 4 decades and he is viewed as a selfish pig because of his attitude, which is probably a bad example seeing hiw he plays a team sport, but my point is that kobe being snobby or whatever doesn't take away from kobe being magnificent on the court. and people seem to fail to realize this when talking about floyd. he has proven many of his detractors wrong over and over again, so i agree, i love it. keep being you floyd. be you rather than being someone or something someone else wants you to be. you have to live your life before someelse does or before you live someone else's life. people need to accept this.

No he's not. Not even close. Floyd has it easy and whatever "disrespect" he receives, he brings on himself.

Show me 1 post that I have ever discredited the career of the great champions Bernard Hopkins & Joe Calzaghe. I rest my case.
