Joe Calzaghe vs Roy Jones Jr.

Even though i thought it would be a bad match up for Roy an hour ago.

I think he could do well. As counter punching is his strength. He could catch Calzaghe clean often. But he would have to take a lot of shots from JOE C at the same time. I still favour Joe C though.

id be going for my countryman roy jones but he is too old at this point to hang with an elite fighter like calzaghe, maybe in his prime roy would emberass joe but now id pick calzaghe over jones by decision

This fight will happen regardless how shot Roy is. I personally think Calzaghe is the best fighter from 161-175, better than Dawson, Johnson, Bute etc. I don't think Roy can beat the some of the top fighters in the 161-175 division, let alone the BEST fighter, that's how ridiculous this fight sounds.

I agree, Joe says he's only going to fight a max of twice after Bernard. Those fights should be against Chad and Kelly/Jermain. I hope that's how it pans out and maybe then, Joe could be persauded to fight Roy as a 'sign off' fight for megabucks (a bit of a testimonial bout). If Joe beat Kelly and or Chad, the money vs Roy may be too much to turn down

Don't be fooled by this rip off of a PPV tonight. Roy is an old fighter and will be embarassed by Joe at this point, Bernard has a better chance.

For all of you people who say Joe will win by KO are delirious, he slaps and doesn't hit hard at all. The way he KOs his opponents is with volume not power.

So this fight will be won by boxing skill alone and Jones, Jr. is by far the better boxer.

Hopkins, Toney and now Trinidad. Who has Calzaghe beaten for you to think he is going to run threw Jones? it's crazy to even think that.
