Apparantly the fight was going to make less for Mayweather than Margarito's camp offered.

Baldo has better fan recognition? Nobody knew who he was until he made the most of his opportunity. DLH has been past his prime and is only a money option and Hatton is a JR welter.

Margarito was the longest running beltholder in the division with the most fights against top ten competition.

Why would Floyd fight him? To prove hes the absolute best pound for pound. Beating a guy with 9 losses and no name, an aged superstar and a man fighting in a lower division is a better challenge than someone who had 7 title defenses and beat more top ten contenders in that division than anyone else?
