Apparantly the fight was going to make less for Mayweather than Margarito's camp offered.

Maybe it is true that Floyd didn't fight him for more money.

I am still very confused how Margarito generates as much as well-known, welterweight lineal champ who had signature wins Zab Judah.

Someone should explain that to me.
Can you explain how he made $8 million for Baldomir?

      There you go again.
Let's see... the guy who's dad beat Muhammad Ali. His uncle beat Larry Holmes. He was the linear unified welterweight champion and had just beaten Ricardo Mayorga, who was ranked in the P4P top 10.

Now... what was Margarito's biggest win/claim to fame?

        It's all about Arum.

Arum is the promoter and was the one making everything happen. He is a multi-millionaire, of course he has the kind of dough needed to pull this fight off. And he was going to put the bout in San Antonio or L.A with all the mexican crowd. The fight would of sold out easily because Margarito is a mexican.

Arum was willing to make this happen.

Mayweather ducked him and it's just that simple.

I wish I could ask Bob Arum how he was going to make Margarito generate more money than Judah...

Margarito would bring the powerful Mexican/Mexican-American demographic. And nobody knows how to manipulate that market better than Bob Arum.

The only thing that would set it apart is that he beat Judah in an upset, and then got exposure for beating Arturo Gatti to pieces in Atlantic City...

Obviously Baldomir shouldn't be generating as much as Judah was either.

Maybe the question is, how come the figures for the first Mayweather-Judah match (before Baldomir beat Judah) were so low?

EDIT: Maybe Asian Sensation could venture a guess... that dude seems a lot more involved with the boxing world then the majority of everyone else on here. I'd like to hear what he thinks. I'd really just like to know.

Just face it floyd refused to fight Margarito for the biggest paycheck of his boxing career. Its alright to admit this, don't worry Mayweathe ain't going to see you around your block run after you then punch you in the face, it wont happen.

Oh this? This had to do with the 7 million dollar offer that Arum supposedly gave Mayweather. Total bull**** just to make Margarito seem even more ducked. One guy here made a good long ass post explaining why.
