Okay... the unknown without a signature win is going to generate more money than the prospect who beat Cory Spinks for the lineal championship. You got me. Winning the lineal championship also puts him in a position to make future fights, instead of having to chase challengers. De La Hoya would have never given a first fight to the WBO champion Floyd Mayweather, because he wouldn't have been nearly as popular. Argue all you want, but it's true. Judah was more popular than Margarito at the time (and now since he lost to Williams). Mayweather is more popular because he is the lineal champion.

Funny how two of them moved up to 160, 1 just flat out ducked him straight up and told him to his face, and the other fought 4 times in 3 years.
Question: What does Margarito at 154 bring to the table for De La Hoya, Mosley or Vargas?

Mosley was fighting the bigger name in Vargas, so that takes those two out. Mayorga's wins over Forrest made him a bigger name than Margarito.

Mayweather is the only one you can even make a case for, and I've already answered why Floyd didn't go for it.

Mayweather was gurentted 8 mil, its been said so many times so stop it already. Doesn't matter if we didn't know Margarito at all, he was gurrented 8 mil. He fought Judah who came off a lose to baldomier and still he fought no real welterweight contender. Its hopeless talking with you about the Margarito situation, cause you don't see how Sinclair was gurented 8 mil. Do you understand?

Such a small town and not even his neighbors would go out to see him fight, wow, how sad.

A guaranteed 8 million may or may not have been the most he could have made... you can't prove it, because we don't know how much Mayweather would have made from the Judah fight.

I mean... having 20% of a city's population show up would be stellar for a fight... and that is only 5000, not exactly delightful for a fighter.

I don't give a **** about any of the three mentioned... Mosley, De La Hoya or Vargas. I'm just saying why Margarito doesn't bring a ****ing thing to 154. No belt, no name, no money.

Stop making excuses. In Mosleys career he was lucky to even fill the seats to 5 thousand capacity while he was champion. 5 thousand would be good. Just face it Williams gets no love from his hometown.

Why are you obsessed with arguing with me? I don't ****ing like Williams, and I don't care if fans like him or not. I merely said that his hometown was small and you started ****ing grilling me. Quit ****ing assuming that I am the negative of everything you say. FFS.

Be serious... compared to what those three can and had been making? Those were the big name veterans at that point. Of course they could make more than $8 million.
