I was takin back, so i was lookin around the internet for more info, and it is in fact very true that HBO really wants this fight to be FREE on HBO...

Although, if it was to be moved off of PPV, then the fight would be delayed a week in April... a welcome sacrifice

        DAN RAFAELS NOTEBOOK, espn.com

Negotiations for an April fight between light heavyweight champ Bernard Hopkins and super middleweight champ Joe Calzaghe are expected to wrap up any day and they could yield a sweet bonus for fans. The bout was originally planned for April 12 as a $49.95 HBO PPV fight. However, Golden Boy CEO Richard Schaeffer told ESPN.com that the fight could move to April 19 and off PPV. "I am working very hard to try to do the Hopkins fight live on HBO," he said. HBO is interested, offering about $6 million, which is close to what the promotion would net if the fight was on PPV and did 250,000 buys.
I'm sure that Calzaghe vs. Kessler lowest rating in history has something to do with it..

I went a hell of lot longer than 1 minute when I ****ed your mom (early in her career obviously, before she got AIDS).

I also gave her swimmers' ear.

          **** yourself *****.

It would quite nice to save the fifty bucks for this fight. I will keep my fingers crossed...

I'd love it to be on the 19th, my best mate is getting married on the 12th, would mean i could possibly go to both.

                  Frank Warren is a bum.
HBF you spelt Frank Warren incorrectly, it's actually spelt 'C U N T'
Thought I'd clear that up lol

That was to be expected when you have two non-Americans fighting at an earlier than normal time. Calzaghe/Manfredo did solid ratings for HBO in the States and that was a joke fight compared to Joe/Mikkel. The Calzaghe/Kessler fight was still a success considering the live gate and ratings throughout Europe.

Pavlik/Taylor did not do so well in Europe for similar reasons.

Hopkins is also not a big PPV draw in the States because while he has a solid record he's also one of the most boring fighters ever to watch.

It has nothing to do with being a "man", just common sense and maturity on Joe's part. Calzaghe cant sit on his punches like he use too since he breaks his hands so easily. Joe will still sit on his punches when he has to though.
