of course not... this is not anywhere near a "Mega-Fight"...
    Just a "nice to have"

Hopkins is 65 and Calzaghe, who is 57 is hardly known in US..

The Ring champion vs. the clear #1 contender, 2 undefeated fighters, 3 of the 4 ABC belts. Apparantly this isn't enough to excite people. How ****ing pathetic.
No. It's not. People root for what they say and can touch. Neither Kessler nor Calzaghe have ever made an effort to put themselves anywhere but their own countries. Are they allowed to do that? Sure. But that also is going to lead to terrible PPV ratings.

Look, it's what I have been saying... Is Calzaghe not a great fighter because he never fought in the US? No, he probably is a great fighter. But, no one in America will care.

          It wasn't PPV.

I wouldn't ***** at all if it were PPV, but the same audience that HBO has for every WCB program, tuned into every other program more than this one.

I am just shocked that Cotto-Urkal made better ratings in comparison, you know?

How about Hatton-Collazo... Hatton's first trip to the US, against a nobody (if people don't know who the undefeated best fighters are at SMW, they sure as **** aren't going to know who Collazo is).

They should still have a 24/7 on it, or at least a countdown for it.

Just to hype it. Calzaghe-Kessler had no promotion, minus those badass commercials. I could see it being like Pavlik-Taylor, it getting a countdown the week before even though it's free.

This also means I get to see it in HD! Oh this is so awesome.

They actually might have a countdown for this... Hopkins is big enough, considering he was the PPV fighter when he fought Wright. Wright didn't get a PPV against Taylor, and Hopkins did.

They will probably make a countdown for this fight.

Yep. Calzaghe/Manfredo did pretty good ratings for HBO.

Calzaghe/Kessler was huge in Europe drawing a 50,000 plus live gate and did very well in the rating throughout Europe.

Calzaghe should have Hopkins as a PPV fight in the UK. It will sell close to the 1.4 million that paid for Hatton/Floyd here.

That's what needs to be happen in boxing.

And the $6 mill, is that from HBO alone? I'm sure they get money from the British sports network, whatever that is........

Hopkins isn't a PPV fighter, finally HBO have realized this as well.

But JC would get buys in the UK & Europe.
