It might be because Calzaghe-Kessler was the lowest rated HBO WCB show of 2007, which is a ****ing travesty, because it really probably was the most meaningful match of 2007.

I think they also might be tired of trying to make Hopkins into a PPV star... his fighting style does not allow for him to be a PPV star.
    i agree with you

That's because between them they had fought in a total of 3 countries and Calzaghe refused to help Kessler promote the fight on mainland Europe. The fight was only followed in the UK, where it doesn't matter who Calzaghe fights.

        Frank Warren is a bum.

Even so... the American public should be smart enough to realize that this fight is a hell of a lot more important than Cotto-Urkal, which apparantly got better ratings, because I think I heard that Calzaghe-Kessler had the lowest HBO WCB ratings of all-time... maybe it was just 2007. Either way, no way in hell Cotto-Urkal > Calzaghe-Kessler.

NO ONE knew who they were here. That's not America's fault. That's Calzaghe and Kessler's. People know Klishtko. People knew Prince Naseem. People know Ricky Hatton.

Why don't people know Joe Calzaghe?

John ****ing Duddy has more name recognition here than Calzaghe. Warren is terrible or there's another problem.

I checked The Ring rankings and boxrec (which took all of 4 minutes) to find out that they were a combined 81 (or was it 83) and 0, held 3 of the 4 ABC belts (and Calzaghe vacated the 4th, so it's lineage went through him) and it was for the Ring belt.

The Ring champion vs. the clear #1 contender, 2 undefeated fighters, 3 of the 4 ABC belts. Apparantly this isn't enough to excite people. How ****ing pathetic.
