still, it wasn't a gimme fight, I would say baldomir vs cotto would make more sense then gomez.

I think those fights are on about the same level, but Baldomir is coming off two loses and then a questionable win over luciano Perez on telefutura while Gomez is coming off the biggest win of his career followed by another victory at 147 over Ben Tackie, it's no question they are similar level fighters at this point but Gomez has the momentum while Baldomir is falling off bad, he's more fit to be JCC jr.s step up fight that Cotto's next defense.

I don't agree because Baldomir is in his late 30's and has been getting smacked around lately. The only thing Cotto could prove is that he could KO the guy. At least Gomez has been winning and is in his prime.
