Whose gonna make you look worse? Roy? or Bernard? bernards a skillful boxer... roys as unorthodox and hard to hit as they come... if anyones gonna make you look bad its roy... Tarver was on game point for roy... when tarver had to drop weight... he was slow, didnt throw any punches.. he just stood there waiting for bernard to throw... all the announcers were talkin about it.. buddy mcgirt kept asking what was wrong... it wasnt like bernard wasnt there to be hit... he was standin in front of him all night long

obviously a bernard fan wants to be credited for beating the best tarver... but he didnt... i still give bhop the credit... he still jumped up 2 weight classes. he deserves the win... its just that he fought a sluggish weight drained tarver... it, is, true.
losing weight shouldnt be an excuse especially when its not pure muscle like the other poster said. Ricky hatton has a much smaller frame and loses about 40 pounds every fight and he never looks sluggish, so why is that an excuse for Tarver? Its not like he was weight drained either because he is still making 175. Weight drained is someone like Castillo or Corrales cant even make the weight anymore. Bernard dominated the two guys who knocked Roy out cold, and his fans just cant get over that, and im sure Roy cant either.

Bernard has been a better fighter than Roy for years now, most RJJ fans are just dillusional. Bernard holds, takes away your strong points, it is much harder to look good against Bernard than Roy. Roy is fast and will outclass you if youre not on his level, but looking good against todays B-Hop is not possible, just look at Winky Wright, Jermaine Taylor,Tarver, and everyone else he has fought.

Hatton gains fat inbetween fights. A lot easier to shrink these fat cells in losing weight than to shed the muscle that both Tarver and Roy Jones Jr put on for their movie role and heavyweight fight respectively.

So you're trying to say he was carrying 45 pounds of fat in that movie? 5 or 10 pounds, maybe, but FORTY FIVE pounds?

Im saying boxers drain themselves to make weight, which is why the day after weigh in they can add 10lbs or more to their weight, now when not training, adding thirty pounds to that is nothing. If he gains 40 pounds thats not gonna all go to his stomach, its going to be dispursed throughout the body, so its not like its going to look ridiculous because naturally hes already a big guy. Add to that for the fight, he weighed in at 174, so losing the weight wasnt even an issue. heres a pic from the rocky movie, he didnt pack on the muscle like Roy did against Ruiz at all.
