I think it's safe to say that Bernard Hopkins is the best fighter that Joe calzaghe has ever seen, including Mikkel Kessler no matter how many of you stans wanna hype Mikkel up.

2. Is joe really the best fighter that Hopkins has seen in his career?

Sorry but that guy that Joe faced was not on Hopkins's level. I did make my point. People keep telling me about Joe's great workrate.......I didn't see it in that fight. Hopkins can neutralize that workrate and make Joe look ugly and more sloppy then he has ever looked.

Just because you dont understand your point, doesnt mean that anyone else can.

It seemed that the point you were making was that Joe's work-rate either wasnt very good in the clip you posted, or that it was ineffective. Considering he threw a ****load of punches in those two rounds (which is impressive taking into account that they were the first two 'sizing up' rounds), that kind of neutralizes your point if it was the former. If your point was the latter, then it obviously was effective because just before being stopped Mitchell was knocked down, knocked incredibly wobbly, virtually knocked out on his feet and then knocked half way across the ring where he sprung into the ropes and was eventually ruled out of the fight. So that point isnt well demonstrated by that clip either.

Hopkins is certainly a level about Mitchell. But he doesnt his anywhere near as hard as Mitchell did and that was what it took to knock Calzaghe down...but nowhere near out. So Hopkins hasnt shown that he is capable of that.

If your clip shows anything, its Calzaghe's adaptability to opponents. If he needs to ****, he can slug it out like he did here. If he needs to box he can neutralize your threat and keep you on your back-foot with his incredible work-rate, like he did against Lacy and Kessler. All fighters your next port-of-call is to no doubt discredit when in comparison to Bernard Hopkins. Dont disappoint me now.

Hopkins only hope is by using his head, literally. Even if calzaghe doesn't get through with alot of shots, his output will be too much, yes hopkins is a counter puncher and if he was 10 years younger he may have had a chance but the fact is joe is much much too fast for him. thats just my opinion.

You didn't see his workrate? Did you mean the first round where he threw over 80 punches, or the 2nd round where he threw over 90 punches (fight was stopped before the end of the round). LOL...interesting.

Hopkins had hell with taylor cos he couldn't get passed his double jab, similar scenario although joe will score more combinations than taylor. Hopkins will have success and make him miss n probably stun calzaghe with some counters but won't be able to do enough. Hopkins in his prime was an awesome fighter, i think he would have been able to handle calzaghe then but would have still been very competitive. I think roy jones hit the nail on the head wen he said you can't beat calzaghe on points unless you stop him or keep hurting him regularly. The problem with that is he has an excellent chin, i think thats when his Italian blood comes into the mix lol. joe c 9-3

Hopkins might not be capable of hitting as hard as Mitchell but he is definitely more capable of landing a punch then Mitchell.

If Joe starts throwing those wise punches getting wild, he will get schooled and countered all night by B-Hop.......guaranteed.

And if he gets countered (like he did against Kessler), he'll change tactics. He'll start backing Hopkins up by working the jab and throwing it straight down the middle. Keeping out of trouble with a hand and foot-speed that Hopkins cannot match and has showed little indication lately that he'd be capable of dealing with.

For some reason you seem to think that all Calzaghe can do is swing like a mad-man.

this shouldn't be a debate, calz isn't at the same level as b-hop. calzaghe's volume of punches seems to be his big specialty and I didn't see that in his last fight. he has absolutley no power in his punches and I truley believe if b-hop gave him 5 free shots to the head that he couldn't even get a knockdown. hopkins is gonna make easy work of calzaghe and I am a hopkins hater cuz I hate the way he fights, its very boring. I think tarver could beat calzagahe EASILY as well so imagine what hopkins will do to him.

Tarver would absolutely destroy Calzaghe. We will never see that fight.
