Ok thats only a tuneup fight. But the winner will get Margarito. Thats the same guy that PBF avoid to take a fight that offered him less money. Cotto between the champs in 147 is the one that has faced the better oposition and you have to count margarito this year. And other thing Cotto is not in vacation and eventually is going to fight every contender or cham in 147. He even doesnt choose the oponents to the fights he only trained to them. So if the company puts in front of him a Gorrilla he fights it. Hes not afraid like other boxers around.

Yes it is. Cotto would probably stop Hatton but it would be a war.

False, Mayweather made the same money by fighting Baldomir, the lineal welterweight champion.

What advantages does Hatton have over Cotto? Power? No. Speed? Yes, but not significantly, SSM was much faster.
At 36? Right. But lets continue..

You made a good point here but didn't even noticed. That's exactly what could give the fight to Hatton, tieing Cotto up (no body demolition oh noes) when he comes up close and circling him. Cotto does not circle so he will be in the end of Hatton's gloves allllll night. It is true Hatton didn't use angles vs mayweather but thats because mayweather doesnt come stright at you. well cotto does, he is strong and alot of heart but so is hatton and hatton has an huge heart as well. WOW what a fight.

Are you kidding me, Hatton has no technique, in the prefight interviews he told reporters he know how to punch from different angles. Hatton just swings at you and circles, he doesn't look for angles he just tries to hit you. Defense? Hatton ties you up and swings wildly so there is no defense, Cotto's defense isn't great but he was able to stop a lot of SSM's punches which impressed me
              But Mayweather would kill Cotto

                  Bottom line is this
Obviously Cotto was always underweight at '40
he seems comfortable at '47, but I even suspect he'd be more natural at '54
That said Hatton is a natural @ '40
he would have worn down a weakened 140 Cotto
Cotto @ 147 or higher would knock Hatton out of the ring
and end his career with the beating, if you dont believe me
                  ask Hatton
