**** Oscar, and **** Floyd and all his family drama BS. Both of them should just retire for good, Oscar is old and should just stick to running Golden Boy and Mayweather should just go to MMA like he said and get his arms broken since he doesn't wanna fight any of the real top Welters (Cotto, Williams, Tony, etc...). Like another posted said, I'm sick of hearing "money" in boxing, but unfortunately it's all there is to it nowadays.
I'm thinking we are headed for a Golden Boy vs Pretty Boy Trilogy...

Here are a few possibilities as to why this fight could still be a big money generator. DLH is still a big name to casual viewers. Now consider this. With Mayweather going on dancing with the starts he becomes known to the general public. While doing that he gains new interest in potential fans along with re-familiarizing himself to the people who might have seen him against DLH but not known who he was. So these people tune into the Mayweather-Hatton fight and see PBF knock Hatton out. This raises PBF's stock to the general public now because he has possibly redeemed himself to those who saw the fight against DLH and also has excited those new people who never heard of him until DWTS. For those casual viewers, the likelihood of them understanding the weight differences between DLH and Hatton and how that can play into things like knockouts is probably obsolete so they'll tune into see PBF knockout DLH, or vice versa. Most people on this website would tune in more than likely for the drama that Floyd Sr. training DLH would create between the two camps. The fight has the potential to match the last fights numbers.Last edited by Migs; 01-14-2008, 09:47 AM.Comment

really, can't see a trilogy happening. I really get annoyed that Golden Boy gets another shot at Mayweather. He hasn't proven much recently, he's a damn promoter. Stay in your promoter suit, hell I hope they fight in Los Angeles at the Rose Bowl and Mayweather knocks DLH out in front of all his family, friends and fans. Then when he comes back to consciousness, he will cry in the press conference and say he retires.Comment

what i wanna see, is since floyd beat oscar, and floyds the one with the belt, i wanna see oscar drop down to 147 and fight floyd for his belt... i think floyd will be less gunshy with a 147 oscar in front of him rather than a 154 fighter in front of himThe money is just to good top pass up for them. The 1st fight was close and it made a ton of money. The 2nd one will be even closer than the 1st, and with Mayweather sr in oscars corner the drama/promotion machine will match or top the 1st fight.
If this rematch is a really really close fight the decision will go to Oscar. This will set up a HUGE MEGA Trilogy finale that will shatter the PPV record set by the 2nd fight(Yes i believe the rematch will top the 1st fight due to May Sr and a more aggressive promotion)
Oscar and Floyd will make ton's and tons' of money in this trilogy.Comment

who is that girl on your avatar..... damn she is so pretty and hot
btw, i think im one of the few that is excited on a rematch on oscar - floyd xD.
i mean i dont like that the fight is done based on money, but what i like is that the promotion to the fight is so big, the event is so big that its almost impossible not to get hype up by it xD. also, if someone beats floyd, i would be very happy that it was oscar.
btw, i liked the first fight.. xDComment

I have serious doubts that the rematch will surpass the first fight's numbers, but who knows? Mayweather is a bigger star than he was going into the first fight and Oscar, love him or hate him, is still the biggest draw in the sport. I'm going to puke if they even come close to implying that the rematch is somehow going to save the sport. Based on the first fight, I believe that ODLH can win a rematch if he can just manage to stay focused and throw a jab for 12 rds.Comment
