i've seen alot of tapias fights and he is a beast, he has good power, even if he would have moved up to lightweight seriously he would have made more then a dent in that weightclass. i meen damn he's mostly a street fighter, that's where he learned to fight in the street. but his skills as a boxer were something to study, mix them together and that's tapia. a fight between pac and tapia would be a really good fight. pac don't back down, and tapia has never backed down, or delayed fights cause of injuries, blood and guts was tapia, a man that actually liked to get hit. it's just too bad tapia is too old and drugged out to fight anymore, would have been a good showing at any weight.
After his last time he got caught useing, i heard he has been doing good since.
Haha, if Bert Sugar was on here and he disagreed with you you'd try your best to discredit him too. So I'm in good company I guess LOL.
You talk about Tapia wasting his prime, how would a guy who wasted his prime have a chance with a Pacquiao that ran Barrera and Morales out of the ring? Get real. What's next, are you going to argue about how James Toney would've beaten Marvin Hagler in his prime, if he didn't waste it? Give me a break.
Who hits harder, Romero or Pacquiao? Who is the better fighter, Romero or Pacquiao. If you even try to say some ****** stuff about Romero being better in any quality than Pacquiao, I will put that in my sig for everyone to laugh at how much of a nuthugger you are.
Romero was only a big puncher at 112-115 and over that he was just an above average puncher. Vuyani Bungu was past his prime and still had enough to beat Romero, and Romero never stunned him.
Ayala is no puncher and he outpunched Tapia for long stretches of both fights. You can make an argument for Tapia in the second fight but the first was an Ayala victory clearly. I like Tapia alot, and even I couldn't justify giving him that fight. Tapia was too open for the southpaw right hooks and body shots. What if Pacquiao was hitting him instead?
Marquez is one situation, where he is a strong puncher at higher weights and could absorb Pacquiao's shots reasonably. To talk about a natural 115 pounder beating a guy who KOs 130 pounders is just you being a nuthugger to the max.
BTW, I'm interviewing Victor Ortiz tommorrow. You have any questions?
You should make a thread about that. Or was this specified to one specific user.
We're beginning a typical sports case. Guys of the past will always be looked at as better than greats of the future.
Pacman has proven his strength, chin and speed at a much higher weight. Plus not too many were faster than Tapia and I think Pacman is. Not only is he faster, but has a good chin to not be stopped by Tapia, and has the power to hurt a hard chinned Tapia throughout the fight and possibly stop him.
Iron chin doesn't = "cant be dropped or stopped"
Many iron chinned fighters get hurt or stopped at some point in their career. The human body can only take so much from an opponent stronger, just as strong or bigger than you.
