Anybody looking to defend this deserves, imo, to be banned from watching boxing.
you know what your problem is? you down play any potential threat to Mayweather, you **** on Cotto for facing Gomez but you say nothing about the fight that waits for him in July, either Cintron or Margarito, either way you know what Cotto is doing? he's trying to do what the supposed #1 fighter in that division isn't, he is trying to unify the belts so that HE and HE only can be the real champion at Welterweight but you don't see that, you **** on him for facing Gomez but don't even shed light on the meaningless rematch that Floyd is giving Oscar. what you gonna feed me oct? "he's just giving him a chance at redemption"? "Oscar De La Hoya is still a bigger threat"? umm lets see "Cotto doesn't deserve it"? what? point blank Mayweather is just chasing money and fine, let him do so but don't sit here and talk **** about Cotto when most likely we gonna see him in action 3 times this year, when most likely HE will take on Williams to unify later on in the year while Mayweather fights this pointless fight against someone he beat last year.

you got some nerve, talking about ducking when Floyd rather face someone he beat already and a someone smaller than him than face any talent in his division, what you going to tell me Ricky Hatton is naturally bigger because Floyd started at 130? I know the excuses bro but one thing is for sure Cotto will fight anybody and that is no dispute, you say shame on Cotto when you should be saying shame on Arum because Cotto fights whoever he puts in front of him. he just beat Sugar Shane Mosley, what? Mosley ducked Floyd? does that mean he still wasn't a big threat till Cotto took him out the mix? you **** on Cotto all you want but you got some ****ing nerve, I hope you referring to Floyd too when you say WW's running from other WW's because if you don't you have some ****ing audacity in you. if you defend this De La Hoya rematch YOU deserve to be banned from watching Boxing. I can give him a pass but nothing more.

you say no Cotto-Williams as if thats the fight that needs to be made, ***** please who has Williams beaten to qualify him for Cotto? Margartio? Mitchell? Mathysse? thats it? and he deserves a shot at Cotto? Williams only claim for a big fight is his title much like Baldomir except Paul Williams is 1,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000 times better than Baldomir. the fight that needs to made is Cotto-Mayweather but obviously Floyd begs to differ, he'd rather fight a man who in retrospect lost 4 or his last 5 fights if you include Sturm and 3 of 5 if not, a man who hasn't been ranked pound for pound since 2003 over someone who might just be top 5 pound for pound THIS year, number 2 FOR SURE in WW. no but he'd rather face Oscar and get the money, fine, do so Floyd just know you wont be #1 pound for pound next year big homie, not even #1 at WW and you'll have a big dish to eat threw next year.. if you defend that, which going by your history on threads you do, then I'm calling cable tomorrow and I'm having them cut off your service, nothing but Fox 5 for you buddy!

I do believe SonofIssis is talking out of the wrong end here and is being a total damn hypocrit and morron.

Since when do guys think that in order to be a fan of a fighter they have to hate on all of his potential opponents?

Hey Isis what do you call PBF fighting Gatti, Baldomir, Mitchell? If you criticize Cotto for Gomez **** you gotta do the same for at least a few of PBF's decisions.

Now me personally I"m not bashing PBF at the time each of those fights were part of a plan to get to where he is now. Gatti gave him mainstream recognition, Baldomir gave him legitmacy as a WW.......etc etc.

Why can't you put down the koolaid and see that Cotto is doing the same damn thing. He is following a plan and this is a setup fight for a bigger one in July vs Cintron/Margarito.

People now criticize PBF for his fight decisions because every fight has a very high probability of being his last so we dont want to see him waste them against guys who are irrelevant, i.e. DLH. Is PBF doing the best thing for him, yeah and I would probably do the same and go for the big money so I dont criticize his decision. I wish it were different but I dont blame him for it.

Cotto has a lot more fights in him and this is clearly a setup fight and I am not gonna blame him for this fight since he is clearly gonna fight a top ranked WW in his next fight.

Cotto would've Gatti even more than both. Gatti was prone to right hands. What did Mayweather do? What did Gomez do? So what. Gatti. Big deal. Cotto ain't no stationary target like Gatti. You sound like a contender fan, and you also sound like you just started watching boxing. Not saying Gomez can't win. I just don't see him getting through the new Cotto. Prior to his last fight with Torres. The dude has changed. This Cotto will cruise to a blowout UD or even a late stoppage from accumalation. Gomez can be a threat if Cotto looks past him. Im looking forward to a great fight between both. Should be FOTY canidate. I like Gomez because he comes to fight! LET'S GET READY TO RUMBLE!

The biggest disgrace of 2008 is Floyd Mayweather for refusing to fight Cotto.

"Money" wants a past prime opponent instead: Oscar De La Hoya, who's only won one fight in four years!
