    Floyd fans.....

Ok I know there are a LOT of Floyd Mayweather fans on this forum.
I like Floyd myself, as a Boxer perhaps not as a man due to his attiude & history of violence outside the ring towards women.
The thing is , If you are a TRUE fan of Floyd Mayweather JR then you really should want to see him fighting the best Contenders in his Division right?
Many argue he was lucky to have the likes of Baldomir & Judah holding the titles in this division which of course is not his fault.
So he did the Business and beat them both.
It is no secret that Baldomir would probably have lost to anyone in the top 5 maybe top 10 at Welterweight.
Zab did his famous trick of losing his focus against Floyd and lost.
He has since lost to Miguel Cotto as well.
The thing I don't understand is if you are a fan of Floyd or indeed a fan of Boxing don't you think Floyd should be dealing with these Contenders like Cotto & Williams?
Imagine if Hagler had never fought hearns or Leonard.
Or Ali never met Frazier or Foreman etc..
I don't understand why Floyd fans can accept Ricky Hatton as the final piece in Floyds resume who was NEVER a real contender at Welterweight.
So answer me this Floyd fans.
Will you be happy if he doesn't deal with the true Welterweight contenders?
And if so can you explain why you would be happy for him not to fight them.

    1. Floyd need not fight contenders at every weight he conquers, the point is that he conquered it, and years after he conquered his first division.

    2. Please hold Cotto to the same standard. When's the last time Floyd fought someone like Gomez.

    3. Ali, Foreman, and Frazier are from different eras and fought at one weight class their entire careers. You bring up Hagler, who Sugar Ray Leonard beat, well this is what SRL has to say:

""Floyd's number one this era. He's proved that, against Oscar, now against Ricky Hatton. He's fought the best fighters of his era, so that puts him up there. There's a few more fights left in Floyd, and bigger and better things to come." - SRL on PBF

          1.This is exactly what I don't understand.
You say Floyd has "Conquered" 147 , but there are questions unanswered whether you like it or not.
Cotto & Williams are much more Dangerous than Hatton and as a Boxing fan I don't understand why you don't want to see these fights happen.
We all know Baldomir was not the Best at 147 even though he held the Belts.
          2.Floyd fought a shot Gatti & a shot Mitchell.
          ,Bruseles etc..
3.SRL is welcome to his OPINION but it doesn't mean it is sacred and written in stone.
Floyd beat Hatton outside his weight class , although admittedly very well.
The fight with Oscar hardly set the world on fire with excitement and many consider the result debatable.
SRL has it right where he says there are more fights to come.
Well lets hope those fights are against the Top contenders.

Tell me why you don't want Floyd to fight Cotto or Williams?
          As a Boxing fan I don't understand?

            Terrible, terrible reasoning.

I think we need to draw a fine line between the d*ckriders and the haters.

One, Floyd Mayweather Jr. is the best fighter in the world, a Hall of Famer and he's not done yet.

Two, Floyd Mayweather Jr. has not fought the best opposition in his division since leaving lightweight.

And that's how I see things at the moment. Do I believe he'll fight Cotto? Yes. Will he win? Yes. But let's see how things shake out...

So as a fan you are willing to accept that he doesn't fight?
That is a wierd point of view in my opinion.
How can anyone not want to see the best fighter in the world fight?
This is exactly what i don't understand.
Perhaps in future you might want to elaborate rather than just typing some lame ***** reply.

u say floyd beat ricky who was out of his weight class... what about when floyd beat oscar, out of his weight class? how about the fact that floyds been moving up in weight classes for how long? how long has floyd even been a true welterweight? to discredit floyd for beating ricky who fights at 140 and floyd now currently fights at 147 is ridiculous... floyd started as a featherweight

                  YOU ARE MISSING THE POINT.
And I am NOT DISCREDITING FLOYD.
He is the best Fighter on the planet.
Why are people happy to not see him fight Cotto & Williams.

                    Stop right there.

There about 5-6 welterweights that would defeat Ricky Hatton - hell, Louis Collazo did it. Second, let's stop acting like Floyd did something by beating Oscar. I repeat, when was the last time Oscar De La Hoya had a significant win?
