      Oh man, that's rough.

I can understand Judah vs Margarito, I think that will be a great fight, but damn Cotto vs Gomez seems like a huge mismatch. Cotto is going to get killed!!!

lol, seriously though, I'm a big fan of Gomez and all but this might be a very bad move for him. He might end up taking a lot of punishment before he gets TKO'd. He's one of those guys that refuses to go down, has a ton of pride and a pretty good chin.

He did surprise me a bit when fighting washed up Gatti though, even a shot gatti I thought would have done better than that.

        Let me tell you:

        * Alfonso beat an Undefeated Prime Peter Manfredo Jr
        * Alfonso stopped Arturo "Thunder" Gatti after Carlos Baldomir
        * Alfonso is 0-1-1 against Jesse Feliciano
        * He has 8 KO's in 18 fights and he can shock the world
        * He beat the greatest fighter of our era Ben Tackie
its actually 1-1-1 against feliciano......and he shouldve won all 3... the second fight was a sickening hometown decision...

gomez beat gatti winning 6 rounds and the KO'ing him wit a great shot, Baldomir struggled...and Gomez also KO'ed Luciano Perez in 4, a guy who Baldomir barely beat...

i agree its not the best fight out there, but it would be entertaining...

also, gomez' loss to ishe smith wa s a fraud as welll, the referee dedcuted him a point without one single warning....otherwise it wouldve been a draw...
so all in all, gomez' only clear loss is against a guy who fights 21 pounds higher...

gomez has a better shot at beating cotto than baldomir had against floyd...

And the winners are supposed to face eachother? This has got to be a joke. It will end up being Cotto-Margarito and Cotto putting a whooping on Margarito's overrated behind.

Just one thing: Baldomir did not struggle vs. Gatti. Gatti may have had a bright spot here and there, but Baldy overwhelmed him.

            Other than that, good points.

ROFL. You guys are sickening, and since when did Baldomir struggle with Gatti? Are you sure you watched that fight? If you are able to name more than 2 rounds which Gatti won then Karma for you.

El Nuevo Dia always reports things like this but it's always speculations and nothing is concrete...the only thing concrete is the everyday assassinations that go on in P.R.

                  Cotto vs Clottey

                  Margarito vs Judah

that would make a good card

How does Gomez get a shot at Cotto? It seems a little early for that to me at least. I suppose as discussed in another thread most of the high opposition in the division have been or are being paired up already.

im not defending cotto or anything, i just dont have a problem with the fight...just as i never really have a problem with who floyd wants to fight, after all, the only one they hurt by not fighting the dangerous fights is their own legacy...

besides the fight isnt even final, clottey and cintron are being mentioned as well......i just think gomez may get it because cintron will run scared, clottey will fight him for the title(#1 contender), collazo is fighting nelson linares, quintana is fighting willimas, margarito is fighting judah, floyd is "retired", oscar has not decided what to do, shane should retire imo, hes completely shot....so basically all the contenders at 147 are busy, id rather watch cotto take on gomez than on his mandatory Klose....

oh and trading hooks nonstop isnt exactly a walk in the park even if you win the rounds...
