Interesting that HBOPPV and Showtime will wind up going head-to-head with separate light heavyweight bouts.

I seem to be in the minority (at least among the media), but I have no problem saving my money on this one and instead watching Dawson-Johnson. This fight is intriguing, but intrigue rarely if ever translates to entertaining, or even watchable in Hopkins' case.

Yeah, I'd rather watch Calzaghe vs Hopkins as well although Dawson vs Johnson does interest me.

That one fight was better than Hopkins's entire career. All the best fighters above welterweight are elsewhere in the world anyway.

Get with it brother, fighting Americans in America just because we see them on ESPN and HBO is not important anymore.
Kayjay, what it do? I know this is late, but I just saw the response to one of my posts. How could you say that this is NOT the country where the fighters are anymore???????? I mean come on buddy. I don't even need to name the fighters from here, but since "they are NOT here anymore", then WAKE ME UP AND SHOW ME WHERE THEY ARE!!! LOL. I mean really. This is a respectful post. Because I respect you as a man, but please help me with this one kayjay. HOP not a legend? How do you defend a title that many times and not be a legend? I missed that one too...Oscar and Tito are LEGENDS in the sport, but Kessler...not so much.....Fighting Americans in American is VERY IMPORTANT, NO MATTER where you are from. Y do you think the Boxing Mecca is in Vegas as opposed to anywhere else?

De La Hoya and Trinidad are not legends at middleweight.
