WTF!!!!!!I read on a puerto rican news site (elnuevodia.com) that it's looking more and more like DLH wants to rematch PBF. So Cotto may be moving to with fighting Alfonso Gomez on the same card as Judah/AM.........
Cotto WHAT ARE YOU DOING....???

Everyone calm down and think about this rationally.
First of all, this is the newspaper speculating. They do not cite any sources close to Cotto saying anything about Gomez. They only talk about having sources close to Oscar saying he wants Floyd.
Secondly, if Cotto's camp (and his promoter) are smart, they'd get the mandatory out of the way to clear a path for a big money fight. Gomez isn't even ranked in the top 15 by the WBA. The interim champ, Yuriy Nuzhnenko, would be the smart fight.
Now, Cintron is rumored to be fighting Clottey next (the fight isn't signed but it's quite close to being), so they're not available. Collazo has insulted Cotto too many times for Cotto to even consider fighting him (kind of like Hatton and Witter), Williams is fighting Quintana, and Margarito and Zab seen to be fighting each other. Since Oscar is going for Floyd, and Floyd is either not fighting or dancing with Oscar, the smart move is to fight the interim champ and get that over with, clearing up your next fight for an optional defense.
BTW, Oscar wants to fight Floyd at 147? Is he nuts? He couldn't win with the size advantage at 154, what makes him think he'd be any better at 147?Comment

A rematch with Floyd certainly wouldn't make as much money as it did before and I don't see Oscar fairing much better this time around.Comment

Now that I think about it Cotto doesn't have much of a choice. Antonio is facing Judah, Floyd is facing Oscar, Williams is facing Quintana and Clottey is going after Cintron. Maybe a Mosley rematch?Comment

I agree that it probably won't make as much money the next time around but I think DLH could do better than he did last time if he keeps pumping his jab.Comment

I gurantee it will be a wide decision in Floyd's favor. A good chunk of the buildup will surround Oscar's jab and WE KNOW Floyd takes away a fighters good punches. That jab won't be effective and neither will the hook. WIDE decision in Floyd's favor.Comment

He doesn't need to make any excuses. The fight he's been wanting is Mayweather and it's that coward that's been the one making nothing but excuses since day one. If DLH doesn't want to fight Cotto either, he's going to take a tune up just like Margarito is if he fights Judah. Then in the summer Cotto-Margarito will happen. Arum has said that was his plan all along if these men duck Cotto like they obviously are.Comment
