Bait thread: Will Mayweather stop Cotto?

I don't think Mayweather can stop Cotto. The dude has taken flush shots to the chin and still walks. I don't think Mayweather has that Judah, Mosley, Torres power.

Floyd could knock him out. It isnt out of the question. He could pot shot Cotto for about 7-8 rounds and then open up on him later. He caught a smaller Ricky with a perfect shot, and Cotto has been hurt before. Cotto would HAVE to come to Floyd, and this makes him easier to hit.

Floyd couldnt even drop the chinny Judah. Cotto took powerfull shots from Torres and didnt go down. If u rewatch that fight, Torres pulled Cotto by the back of the neck and pulled him down, but the ref called it a KD. Floyd doesnt have power. He relies on accuracy. He might be able to catch Cotto with alot of clean shots, but he is NOT stopping Cotto.

I voted Yes because it is possible, but I dont think it will happen. Cotto will give Mayweather a tough fight, I just hope he ****ing fights Cotto, Miguel deserves the fight he has worked hard for it. I'm a cotto fan but I know he will lose to May...

there's no way that cotto's stopped by mayweather, not happening. if the fight gets made now, like '08, i see cotto losing a closely contested matchup in which mayweather shows us why hes held in such esteem. if however, cotto fights gomez, winner of margs / cint and another - and the floyd fight comes off in 09, i got cotto by stoppage win.

Cotto took Mosley's best shots and there is nobody here that can argue that Mayweather hits harder than Mosley at 147.

Nope, Mayweather might pot-shot him all night and get a few clean shots in, but he will not do enought to stop Miguel. Floyd just doesn't have that much power and he won't commit to his punches because he knows Cotto can hurt him.

No I don't think PBF will stop Cotto beat Cotto of course. Yes PBF can stop Cotto. I think PBF will have Cotto very drained and weak by the end of the fight. I want see if Cotto can take body shots. PBF doesn't neccessarily attack the body but he is constantly hitting a person to the body when they are not expecting it and I think that is why his body work is underrated but very effective. It will be interesting to see how Cotto handles PBF accurate head punches and being hit in the body when its not expected.
