Bait thread: Will Mayweather stop Cotto?

When mayweather knocked hatton out, it was at a great distance and perfectly timed punched. Hatton was hardly ever at a distance however and thats when mayweather does his great work. Cotto is usually always at the exact distance that mayweather likes his opponents. Cotto is my 3rd fav fighter at the moment but I think mayweather stops him.

He will wear Cotto down and discourage him. Thats how I feel. Yes Cotto is the pressure fighter, but so was Hatton. Cotto has better boxing abilities than Hatton, but he will get negative and grow discouraged, go down, and not get up.

Cotto seems to be a sucker for taking a right hand or a right uppercut. I think Floyd could cut him up in the mouth causing the ref to stop it. Though if they do fight I think it'll be more Potshot Mayweather with a couple left hook right hand lead combos. Nothing like the combos he was doing in round 8 and earlier in his career though sadly.

Yeah also at one point the theme was, would Floyd run from Cotto in a fight.....and how would he deal with the pressure.

haha I'm not sure if Cotto really wants to stand in front of Floyd meaning stand and trade punches. He would get caught with some ****.

He'd have to pull his boxing job like he did against Mosley and I see that ship failing as soon as it launches.

Cotto actually has the power to make floyd fight a more defensive fight than what he fought against Hatton, especially in the later rounds when he really opened up. I don't think Mayweather will be as willing to work on the inside in this one and accumulate enough damage to stop Cotto. I just barely started thinking about this and I think Hatton took punishment but not enough to stop most of the big welters, so I think Cotto can handle more punishment and he wont receive as much.

He will wear him down and stop him in the later rounds. Cotto got tired in the last couple of rounds against Mosley and Mosley was tired as well, Floyd wont get tired due to his excellent conditioning. Guys tell me something when you are getting hit a lot and can't hit back due to the other guy being a defensive genius, would'nt you get frustrated?

Cotto is Bigger & stronger than Hatton IMO.
Whether this will give him a better chance i don't know.
BUT I DO WANT to see this fight.
I will feel robbed as a fan if this fight doesn't happen!

Mayrunner isn't stoping jack. Before anything you got to get him in the ring
first to fight Cotto, and thats something Floyd wont do. like Arum said if there is one bit of a prospect in Floyds mind that he might lose he wont take the fight , Not out of fear, but, the fear of losing. watch all the Floyd nuthuggers get tight.......
