taylor has'nt earned my respect like you say. i say he's doing the right thing by rematching asap. this shows he's got plenty of self pride. but as a champion taylor was winding down, getting boring, making excuses why he was fighting the way he was. imo i think it was a good thing he lost his titles, mabe it'll make him hungry again. if he does'nt get a knockout win he'll always doubt himself.
JERMAIN TAYLOR is really earning my Respect!!!

taylor has earned alot of respect over the years, but alot of that respect was being loss due to the way he was fighting there for a while, and certain quotes that were being made. i remember one fight, forgot which one, he fought in his own city of lil rock and his own people were booing him cause of his lack of action of his recent fights. if he has a good showing with pavlik-II, i think his fans will magically reapear, but are those the type of fans he wants? i'm hopeing for a battle, but i'd still like to see pavlik win.Comment

because he can so what..he has proven himself, made his mark in the sport, and brought interest to the sport whether you like him or not and you have to respect his ability as a fighter because he is a professional in the ring and is without a doubt dedicated to then sport..
as for taylor i always like him and it was disrespectful for people to turn on him the way they did..all taylor has done is fight the best fighters and even after he lost recently he manned up like usual and asked for the rematch..win, lose or draw taylor is a true championComment

I think Taylor handled himself well in that interview. He could have cried about losing, talked a bunch of ****, etc., but instead he was humble and focused. I feel like a lot of people are counting him out to fast as to having a chance in this rematch. I understand he was knocked out but I still can't shake that image of him mauling Pavlik like a rag doll in that second round. I think if he can stay relaxed in the ring then Pavlik may have some issues. He seemed to tense in the first fight. I still feel this next fight will be closer than many are expecting it be. That's just me.Last edited by Migs; 01-08-2008, 08:32 AM.Comment
