Have to agree with Wlad Owns, Vitali is an all time HWT beast. He has barely lost any rounds in his whole career. His only losses came from when his body broke down. At his best, he is a F****** dominant beast, tall strong smart, intimidating and unintimidatable, variety of punchyes, awkwardly effective, deceptively quick.

And he showed his balls in the Lewis fight. The man would have sacrificed his eye to win that fight.

At his best on hi sbest nights which were many, Vitali could beat anyone from history, ANYONE.

Vitali would get beaten soundly by everyone on those list. With the exception of the fighters pre-60s who fought with a completely different and non-scientific style. (But then again they were just plain tough back then and still would have beaten him) Anyone who quits when fighting feather fisted and former welterweight olympian Chris Byrd is not worthy of mentioning in fights with the all time greats.

I got a good laugh out of that. So suddenly in the 60's boxing somehow turned into a completely different, scientific sport?

I'd probably agree if you said something about the 1800's or the early 1900's but the fighters were just as 'scientific' pre-60's.

whenever, pre 50's or whatever time period it was. It was scientific for back then. If you look at the old time fights. The fights where they fought and sort of held their gaurd with the back of their hands facing the opponent. Also where they kinda flickered out their shots and hit with the back of their hand as well. (Look at some of the really old black and white bouts you will see what I mean.) And no I was not saying that it turned into a completely different scientific sport. I was saying that the science of boxing has changed since then and now punches etc are thrown differently and the art has been refined.
