    Vitali Klitschko runs the gauntlet

We already had a "Wladimir Klitschko runs the gauntlet" thread so I thought I would do one for his brother Vitali. How does Prime Vitali Klitschko matchup against the all time greats.

    Muhammed Ali
    Joe Louis
    Mike Tyson
    Rocky Marciano
    Larry Holmes
    Sonny Liston
    Lennox Lewis
    George Foreman
    Jack Dempsey
    Joe Frazier
    Ken Norton
    Evander Holyfield
    George Chuvalo
    Jack Johnson
    Jim Jeffries

I'm probably forgetting some names, feel free to add more.

He Gets KO'D by all of them in their primes.

Guys like Jack Johnson and Jeffries are way too old school. Different style of fighting, he'd probably beat them.

He does reasonably well against all of them, I can't go out on a limb and say he beats any of them apart from the real old timers and Chuvalo. Big George KO's him everytime though, no questions asked.

Have you even seen Vitali fight? He is a monster with the highest heavyweight KO% of all time (35 wins, 34 KO's) and he has an iron chin, he has never been down. Prime Vitali Klitschko is capable of beating any HW from any era.

I can't stand posters like you that assume old school fighters will beat any modern day fighter. Infact it makes me sick. Do some research before you post. Vitali is a tough as nails mother. KO's all his opponents, granite chin, I don't think he's ever been down in his career minus a shove down by Corrie Sanders which didn't count. His style although at times seems othodox, it's very awkward as well. He's got a great reach with an excellent jab. Mixes up his punches(remember the DOUBLE uppercut he threw against Danny Williams?). He breaks his opponents down skillfully, and I have no reason to believe he couldn't do the same to the old time greats. No reason at all.

Damn straight Danny Williams, Corrie Sanders and Kirk Johnson sure compare to those crappy all-time great heavyweights. Vitali would blow 'em all out just like he did Chris Byrd and Lennox Lewis.

Sorry, I'm not a Vitali hater but the man didn't have a very impressive career. Impressive performances, yes, but against unimpressive opposition. Can't judge him based on that.

Sanders, Williams and Johnson weren't even that bad but they were totally out of shape against Vitali.

remember the DOUBLE uppercut he threw against Danny Williams?
How would you say Danny Williams would do against any of the following fighters:

                  Muhammed Ali
                  Joe Louis
                  Rocky Marciano
                  Larry Holmes
                  Sonny Liston
                  Lennox Lewis
                  George Foreman
                  Jack Dempsey
                  Joe Frazier
                  Ken Norton
                  Evander Holyfield
                  George Chuvalo
                  Jack Johnson
                  Jim Jeffries

I took Tyson out because Williams knocked his old ass out. There again so did Kevin McBride.

Good post, it's good to see other folks appreciating Vitali Klitschko, he was a beast and he would give any HW from any era trouble. It's too bad about his injury troubles, he was on his way to being one of the all time greats.
