Mayorga would have no problem taking that fight because Forrest is a champion and he is not.

Its funny when people say oh Vernon's left was hurt, blah blah blah. Ricardo took three clean rights (his power hand which was not hurt) from Forrest and they didnt even phase him, hurt or not hes still not gonna hurt Mayorga and hes going to get knocked out. Only way he wins is if he runs around the whole fight, but if thats the case, why talk like youre going to kill the guy?Comment

I agree, I think taking the rematch immediately was ****** as **** too.the past is past though, he shouldn't of taken the fight at the time.
Vargas fought on with back problems and payed the price for it. he should have taken time off and let his wounds heal and then get back at it rather then taint your career with two L's then regret it and take time off anyway.
I'm just saying, that is what makes a third bout at least partially interesting.
It is also true that their second fight was a close decision, so it is not like Mayorga wiped Forrest out twice.
I don't know, usually fighters who go 2-0 against another fighter don't fight them again, but there are a couple of special circumstances that make it more okay in this instance.Comment

That's a good point. Mayorga's chin does seem to have softened a bit because of the Trinidad fight for the most part, and it was proven by Oscar De La Hoya. Its funny when people say oh Vernon's left was hurt, blah blah blah. He will just end up outboxing him if he wins, there won't be any "killing" if there is a Forrest win, at least I don't think so.Comment

I think Forrest has a better chance in the 3rd and think he would prob. win it but what if he do? set up a 4th and then a 5th?? It really makes no sense to me.. unless he beat Mayorga very convincingly enough to satisfy him for both losses but then Mayorga would want another rematch don't you think?I agree, I think taking the rematch immediately was ****** as **** too.

I'm not sure if many people want to see another rematch if Mayorga gets dominated and knocked out.
Then again I might be wrong, it's Mayorga who we are talking about here, people will come to see him get his ass beat.Comment

To be honest, I do think these two together seems to attract fans.
Hell, 154 isn't that great of a division anyway... would anyone be upset to have a trilogy (starting from now) between Forrest and Mayorga, to make a best out of 5 series? Forrest is in a must-win everytime though I think.Comment
