Why's there always a "catch" to Hopkins' best wins?

Have you ever thought that Oscar wanted to move up on his own?? He challenged Hopkins. Sure Hopkins called him out in the past, but that was because he wanted to fight the so called best, and they lied in the 154 pound division. He couldn't make or want to go to 154 so he waited for them to come up. De La Hoya could have said "He's too big for me" like he does with Wright. De La Hoya volunteered to come up. It's not Bernard's fault Oscar was "too small"

Winky Wright also fought at middleweight for 2 years! How he was a blown up 154 pounder was beyond me when he had been perfectly fine at 160. Bernard also was willing to come down to 170. He could have even had a bigger size advantage by having it at 175, which I'm sure Winky would have agreed to because he wanted a pay day.

There's always a "catch" to someone wins.

He still fought them with these advantages, regardless of what the circumstances were.

Don't get me wrong, these are good fighters and solid victories, but are they enough to make him the legend he claims to be?

I'm not hating on Hopkins, he's a borderline great fighter, but when I see people talking about this "great resume" which he apparently has, I'm left scratching my head.

Is it just me, or does anybody else think that he fought these guys with an obvious advantage going into each fight?

You can pick apart any fighters resume..man cmon.

But why is that his fault? Why should he have a * marked nexted to him being an all time great.

If a boxer has a boxer infront of him that is smaller shouldn't he be able to dominate him and then knock him out? That's what Bernard did...

If a boxer gains a bunch of weight and doesn't train properly shouldn't the other boxer make him pay for it? That's what Bernard did...

The only exception here is Winky Wright because it's Winky Wright. He has class A defense and any bigger man would struggle with him. Not to mention Bernard was 42 years .

Taking away from a Boxer's accomplish is silly unless you fight a bunch of nobodies like Margarito or Tye Fields.

Why is it his fault? Why ISN'T it his fault?

It's his career, I'm not taking away any of his accomplishments, I'm just slightly critical about them.

And to me he is overrated, a borderline great fighter, but overrated.

            He's no legend.

The Hopkins hate is getting redundant.

Hopkins is a counter punching bum who got beat by a 1 handed Roy Jones and still cries about it till this day

I also get sick to death when people say "Hopkins is the best guy Calzaghe will ever face"

Because to me, Kessler is twice the fighter Hopkins is right now.
