You're right it's not because boxing is a sport, a violent one but still a sport, and someone like Butler who is mentally sick cannot control himself and stay within the rules.

Butler had his chance to do something about it in the boxing match he was in but couldn't do a damn thing to Grant.

Grant was the better boxer and schooled him. Butler got angry and suckerpunched him like a true loser, making everything Grant said about him true.
