Man, took the words right out of my mouth. Shane could have stayed dominant at lightweight and would have eventually fought Mayweather there (sure would have been a great fight), but he chased the money and the fame. Great career anyway.

only losses came to much bigger oppononts and much past his prime.. the man has never been stopped.. if he never noved higher than 147 he would be talked alot more highly of right now, He would of accomplished even more than he has.. He never even went to 140.. he would of owned that division aswell.. instead he moved from lightweight right to welter..

He moved up in weight, and he beat DLH at his best. But that's carried him throughout his career. Almost beating Cotto was impressive, being competitive with Winky was impressive, losing to Forrest is understandable. Look at his best wins though, Oscar, Holiday, old Leija, and...Collazo?

Just saying Mosely faced Golden Johnson and John Borwn back to back. This is a guy considered an all time great at 135.

Mosley was a good fighter at 135 but his competition in his natural weight class was mediciore at best.

He will be remembered more for what he did at 147-154 for beating a Prime ODLH. The rematch Oscar won IMO...and then there are two losses to Forrest, two losses to Winky, a wins against Vargas.

i think you have to be more than just good to dominate a divison so conclusively though all those title defences u have to have a consistency level & still have to adapt to different styles of fighters regardless

He didn't dominate the DIVISION conclusively.

He dominated his opponents whom he fought at 135 conclusively.

                  There's a difference.

I like Mosley for what he did in the upper weights, at 135 IMO he was a very good fighter but the opposition was mediciore:

                    Philip Holiday
                    Manuel Gomez
                    Demetrio Ceballos
                    John John Molina
                    Wilfredo Ruiz
                    Eduardo Bartolome Morales
                    Jesse James Leija
                    Golden Johnson
                    John Brown

Holiday and Leija were the top guys out of that list

I meant to put that he "DIDN'T" dominate the division conclusively.
