Considering how much trouble Arguello (who was getting up their in age at that point) gave pryor, why in the world would Pryor be able to dominate Mayweather?

At least give a reason... And its volume punching you dont have to say it, cause it would be obvious and not nearly enough to dominate Mayweather
You were comparing what Floyd did to Corley, Bruseles, and Gatti.

Gatti? Mayweather dominated agianst an entertaining, but very limited fighter and that should impress anyone? Pryor Ko'd Alexis Arguello. Do you realize how highly esteemed Arguello was going into that bout? He was considered one of the 2 or 3 best fighters in the game at the time. And this was a poll that was taken when Sugar Ray Leonard, Hearns, Holmes, Sanchez, Pryor, Spinks, Hagler, Pedroza and Gomez, among others, were active. And these polls were done by the Ring AND KO Magazine.

More insiders than not, actually were picking Alex to pick up his 4th belt. They actually brought in Henry Armstrong to the bout as this was supposed to be a historic moment for Arguello.

Equating how Pryor fared agianst an all time great like Arguello and comparing it to how Floyd looked agianst Arturo Gatti (Gatti, and the Kevin Rooney that Alex took out in two rounds, is a nice fight. If we are looking for a benchmark here).......I'm sorry but it kind of makes me shudder.

Oh, and since when did Mayweather ever fight a speed demon like Pryor?

I never made that comparison at all, all i said was look at what Mayweather was able to do at 140, pretty damn impressive even considering the competition.

AND, im not saying Pryor couldnt have beaten Floyd, it would have been a tough close fight, id personally pick Mayweather. But there is just no way i could see Pryor dominating Floyd mayweather.

Aaron Pryor & Floyd are both great champions. Pryor last fight was almost 2 decades ago. Floyds last fight wasnt even 1 month ago. Let Floyd be retired for at least a couple of years before you mention him with retired HOF greats like Pryor. BTW Floyd has victories over Oscar & Hatton 2 men who were pretty good at 140 themselves.

no way, mayweather by ko. pryor exposes himself too much for clean counter punches.

            Maybe.

He would have swarmed him like Augustus did. More than likely though he would never quit throwing punches and Floyd would have a much harder time than he did against Castillo for the first time. Pryor was maybe even more relentless.

But you never know..........because even though Pryor's chin was Iron and he'd get flash floored and get right back up unhurt after losing his facilities temporarily. That illustrates how he was no defensive genius and was pretty much hittable.......if you could withstand that storm of punches.

I'd pick Floyd by a split decision. His defense would fluster Pryor and he'd be able to land that 1 and done **** with regularity.

I absolutely agree, he would have run Floyd out of the ring, PBF would have nothing to keep Pryor off him.

Are you kidding, KO???? did you see how hard and often Alexis put those hands on Pryor's chin. Than man has a granite beard homie, Floyd's girly hands wouldn't keep up.

Hatton sux, overrated, and Oscar at 140 would have dismantled Floyd.

You sound like a petty hater. Can we NOT turn a thread about a fight between Pryor and Floyd turn into a Floyd hate thread, for once?

Pryor is the kind of a pressure fighter Mayweather could have trouble with. He is open to counter-shots at times because he keeps his hands low but he utilizes much more head movement and foot movement than Hatton does.

Pryor punches very hard and he punches very often, he doesn't care if it's to the body, to the head, to the shoulders or the elbows he punches everywhere.

He can also take bombs flush to the face as seen against Arguello, Mayweather's right hand surely doesn't carry the power Arguello's does.
Pryor will not back down and he will be on Mayweather for 15 rounds if needed.

Against Pryor Mayweather might risk being outworked and whatever the outcome, he will feel sore after the fight. With Mayweather's experience against pressure fighters it's hard to pick one against him but if there's one that could beat Mayweather it's Aaron Pryor.
Remember Pryor's greatest wins were against counter-punchers. But none were as fast or defensive as Mayweather.

Here is a good highlight of Aaron Pryor.
