Wasn't a great win by any means.
His lay off was like 2 months. He just had gotten robbed against Vernon Forrest in a fight he looked pretty good in.

      No no no.

He took something like a 3 year hiatus from the sport all together......

I personally thought he won both, and I personally thought that the judges could have gone either way in both fights (less so in the Taylor fight, I saw Winky block probably 75% of the punches that HBO blew their load over).

Yeah, and he came back against Forrest, kicked his ass and lost a decision, and then 2 months later got beaten up by Winky Wright.

It was a 5 year layoff after DLH and Vargas, and then he had 3 wins against nobodies, a robbery against him against Forrest, and then Wright beat his ass.

....no he came back against Verno Phillips.

DWeins, you cant fool me buddy.

3 years out of the sport, man. He never kicked Forrest' ass, either. He outpunched him but Forrest was landing at a better percentage and landed the cleaner blows.

The fight with Winky was stellar though.

But that was a washed up Ike, a weight above his natural class...

Just to put it in perspective DWeins.

There ya go. I knew it was a lay off.

5 years Dweins. How old was he when he foughtthe Winkster? 34 or something?

Im not to sure. 25 knock outs from 51 fights. I don't think he hits to hard. He couldn't KO soliman. Mundine knocked him down like ten times and then Kod him.

Not to sure. Im sure his punches are hard thouhg. Just not freakish hard. Winky is a great fighter though. And im a big fan of him.

Lol, you are not going to convince me that Vernon Forrest beat Ike Quartey. Vernon is one of my favorite fighters, and it was a horrible decision. Plain and simple.

I mean, Ike may have been washed up, but Winky did show some power when he sat down on his punches, that's all I was trying to say, not that it was a career defining victory.
