I don't think Bernard is really better fighter than Roy right now. His style was just better suited for the people he has been fighting. Hopkins style was great for Tarver and Wright which only Tarver made him look good. Roy's style doesn't shine as well anymore against fighters who are swarmers and pressure fighters who can thump. Bernard will never be able to beat a mobile fighter with hand speed. Jones had it and he lost, Taylor had it and he lost. calzaghe has it and will beat Hopkins if the fight happens.

Matter of fact the only person I see beating Calzaghe at this time is prolly Roy Jones Jr. Pavlik nor Taylor will be able to beat him and I'm not quite sure Pavlik beats Roy Jones Jr now at 175.

History will show that Roy has always talked about a lot more big fights than he has actually participated in. He'll stop negotiating if there is even one aspect of the contract he doesn't like.

I think u giving Roy too much flack. The hopkins fight hasn't happened because Hopkins was feeling himself too much when Roy was still king. He wanted a 50 - 50 split. Roy wanted 60-40, da king has got to get what he wants.

I think it would make for an interesting fight, but I would go with roy. Pavlik has a nice jab but his power isn't quite what yall think. I believe he got some thump but he doesn't have KO power like that. The KOs that i have seen of him is due more to the other fighter being exhausted which I think has something do with his persistence and pursuit. I don't think Pavlik can handle Roy's power and handsppeed. Taylor doesn't have Roy's power nor handspeed and Pavlik hit the canvas and was getting outboxed and outlanded when Taylor decided to let his hands go and exchange. With that said I belive Roy would have problems with pavlik persistence and pressure if he can take Roy's punch.

**** Hopkins, IMO Jones Jr is a greater name to add to his resume, **** even Trinidad is a greater name for Joe to add to his list yo his credentials are superior, his opponents were tougher and if he beats Jones he will have lost to Hopkins but beat the guy who Hopkins couldn't.. call it what you may I think Bernard gets too much credit, true he's 43 years old and he is a phenom but some guys are just built that way, just look at Evander, nobody sweating him even though he's like 44 and still winning, Bernard is good but a win over Winky Wright in the way he won at the weight he won isn't exactly a qualifying effort for Joe, I think the winner of Trinidad-Jones will be a better opponent for Joe than Hopkins any day, they are both younger and not so dirty.. smarten up Joe and say **** Hopkins, even if he DOES face Hopkins he should definitely still face either Jones or Trinidad.

Trinidad is still very young compared to Jones and the way Hanshaw was connecting was a bit bothersome to me because I thought he wasn't going to see Roy, I thought Hanshaw for the most part is tough but nowhere near Roy's level but when I saw him successfully landing good punches I started to worry and think to myself imagine if that was Trinidad? imagine if Trinidad was able to wail away the way Hanshaw was doing to Roy on them ropes, Roy has speed but I notice that it now manifests in spurts, he throws punches pretty quick but his overall speed is severely flawed when you consider the Roy of old, I'm not saying Roy can't win I'm just saying Trinidad has just as much of a chance if he lets his hands loose.. personally I pick Trinidad, I wont say how because truth be told it doesn't matter I just feel like at the end of the night Trinidad will have his hand raised in victory.
